I really wanted to buy a Lenovo y550p, and I came to a confusion.
The y550p at the Lenovo official website is has Core I7 720qm and states that it is 2.8 GHZ, but the Newegg one states that it is 720qm at 1.6 GHZ. In my knowledge, 720qm is supposed to be 1.6 ghz only...
Any owners of y550p from both Newegg and Lenovo, please clarify this for me.
Also, does the Newegg one have bluetooth? And is quality any different than lenovo?

The i7 normally runs at 1.6GHz, but it can "overclock" itself under certain situations. For instance, a program may only utilize one of the four cores on the processor, if 3 of the cores are just sitting idle, the processor now has extra thermal/energy headroom available and will clock the one core being used much higher. In case of the 720, it can reach 2.8GHz.

The newegg model does have bluetooth. As for the question about the quality. It's the same. A Lenovo is a Lenovo whether you buy it from Lenovo's website or Office Max or Newegg.

It was a tough decision bw that and the asus g51vx, but decided to pull the trigger after seeing some of your posts. I had the same problem w the 8600m nvidea cards on my crap hps. Either wanted to ask you about any advice on removiing the bloatware on the laptop as i heard there's lots of it. Feel free to email me as i don't have IM. Thanks a lot.
