    Hi everyone, I just received my Y580 on Friday.

    The trackpad rattles if I have a little bit of friction from my finger (from pushing down a little harder than normal), or if I tap on it. Anyone else having the same issue? I just want to see if it's a universal thing or if I have a defective trackpad. It's annoying, but I suppose I can deal with it if it isn't just my model.

    Hi alex;

    My trackpad is really smooth... I barely press it. Actually I press it only for the right click function. And of course it will make a sound if you press it. Now, you shouldn't hear anything if you just tap it. It feels the same as a MacBook Pro (my wife has one). So at least for me is great. There's nothing weird with mine. The trackpad is like a big button (you can press it anywhere) with multi-touch functions.

    Hope this helps :)

    My dad bought a Y580 and received it this weekend. I am setting it up for him. His trackpad/touchpad rattles slightly when tapping. It's not too annoying, but it doesn't feel right. I suppose if it were meant to function that way, it would be acceptable. I haven't contacted Lenovo yet. Did you learn any more about yours?
