I guess I have to admit to being an emotional notebook buyer. All ultrabooks available at the moment are not quite what I'm looking for. I mean, the specs are all very similar. It's the looks of most books that turn me off. Apart from the Lenovo Yoga 900. I've seen someone work on one quite recently and I loved it! I would gladly buy it in silver or even in orange.
It's pretty much what I don't need. I don't need a convertible. And my preference would be a matte screen. I'm also not sure how the processor compares to other ultrabooks out there. Thus I dump the specs here and am looking for your opinion.
Intel Core i5-6200U Processor( 2.30GHz 1866MHz 3MB) seems to be the only model still available at Lenovo UK at the moment though I might also still be able to get one with the following:
Intel Core i7-6500U or Intel Core i7-6560U 3.2GHz processor elsewhere.
I guess this is the same as the Asus Zenbook UX303UA, which would probably be my alternative choice (if it wasn't for the ugly brownish casing colours).
- can anyone who owns this computer tell me how happy you are with it? How would you describe the quality?
- the keys have a fairly low travel distance at 1.1mm. How happy are you with that? And how flexible is the frame the keys sit on? I prefer a keyboard that doesn't flex down when typing, and overall a fairly solid casing.
- the screen: how annoying is the glossy look inside a building, especially with light from the side? Do you think it would work to use a 'matte screen' protector?
- How long does the battery last for everyday stuff such as surfing and ms office?
- Would you buy it again, and why/why not?
Thanks a lot.
Ultrabooks I've excluded:
Dell XPS 13 - due to too many reports on faulty units, and the casing is too small for my liking
HP/Acer - Don't like their keyboards
Lenovo ThinkPad 13 - it just looks dull
Lenovo X1 Carbon - too expensive
Lenovo Yoga 900: any experience?
