Lenovo Yoga and other 'convertibles' in vertical mode?

I haven't got my hands on any of these 'convertible' 2-in-1 tablets yet, but the latest Lenovo X1 Yoga caught my attention.

I use a laptop and a tablet (iPad). I need the tablet because of its vertical resolution (2560 pixels by 1600).

For reading documents, a tablet in vertical mode is unbeatable. Today's widescreen laptops are hardly optimal for that.

My question is: can the latest Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga and other convertibles like the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 be used vertically?

I know that they only have horizontal 'stand' abilities (which defeats the purpose of a tablet, in my opinion.)

But can you at least pick it up and flip it so it is vertical?

Surprisingly, very few of the reviews and videos talk about vertical usage, so I honestly don't know.

Also, since the Yoga and similar convertibles have 'tent' modes where they are aligned like an open book, could you 'tent' one on it's side so that it rests vertically on a table or flat surface? (People did this with EEEPC 701s!)

@BrendanS any convertible can be used vertically, including those. Tenting in on side won't be practical because of straight angle, but there's nothing preventing you from doing so.
