Hey all, after some research, I’m thinking of getting this laptop.

I was wondering if anyone has it, or has reviewed it etc, and what are your personal finds?

I am thinking about the i5, NVIDIA dedicated graphics card version, NOT the i3 Intergrated grahpics card version.

    I’d be using it for:
. Web browsing, email, facebook, twitter, MSN, etc.
    . YouTube, watching videos/movies/streaming-Tv.
. Microsoft office: world docs and html writing.
. Image Graphics: editing photos etc (this can mostly be done on my desktop though)

I wouldn’t mind putting The Sims 3 (just the base game, no expansion packs, I wouldn’t push it!) on it too.
    Would it run the game?
(I’ve seen/read about laptops with far lower specs running the game, lol). This isn’t a must, and if it wouldn’t, then no problem at all.

    I’d appreciate your comments :0)

For the Sims 3, you don't need the discrete GPU. The expansion packs likewise won't be a problem. In fact, the base Core i3 model would work for all your tasks and more.

The Z370 is a fine budget laptop, built relatively well. It's no Thinkpad, but it isn't a bad machine. My cousin has a previous-generation Z-series Lenovo.

    Thanks for your reply :0)

I was wondering about the i3 (it's a lot cheaper), but isn't it a known fact, games like the Sims3 really need a dedicated graphics card, rather than an Integrated one? But also, taking the game out of the equation, isn’t a dedicated graphics card, in general, better than an integrated one? As I want to watch Youtube/movies etc.

Also, would the i5 machine not run a lot faster than an i3?
    . Intel® Core™ i3-2330M Dual Core (2.2GHz, Intel Sandy Bridge Architecture, 3MB Cache)
. Intel® Core™ i5-2430M Dual Core (2.4GHz, Intel Sandy Bridge Architecture, 3MB Cache, Intel Turbo Boost up to 3GHz)

I had considered a Thinkpad X120e/X121e, actually, but, no CD/DVD drive...

    EDIT:
Just thought I'd add from one of the top Sims3 community sites.

    FOR WINDOWS VISTA/WINDOWS 7
•2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent (2.0ghz Core 2 Duo or higher is recommended)
•1.5 GB RAM (at least 2.5GB of RAM is recommended)
•128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 (256 MB dedicated video card - mid-range or higher - is recommended)
•Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1
•At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games

For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least:
•Intel Integrated Chipset, GMA 3-Series or above
•2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent
    •0.5 GB additional RAM

Not that the Sims3 is what I'd use this for, really, it would just be nice if I could use the game.
