I haven't seen anyone else post this, I just found this at Daily Tech. Lenovo will release two new Thinkpad Edge laptops with Llano, and a USB powered portable LCD.
DailyTech - Lenovo Unveils Two Notebooks, Portable LCD
I don't care for the Edge's looks, but I like that Llano is coming to thinkpads. The new thinkpads are supposed to be available this month.

Thank's for the link. That's quite interesting. It would be more interesting if they put a matte display in them, but I fear not. Some of the plastic is supposed to be matte, at least.
Glossy screens are the emperor's new clothes. -
Hmm, the Lenovo product page says "soft matte finish", whatever that means.

i think Lenovo is offering too many choices now.... i think they would have a hard time getting a good ROI with so many models on choice. The Edge portfolio must be slim down.

Gee... They release a monitor, and don't state the resolution. Every news outlet just parrots the PR, and doesn't care to ask about facts.

It won't be a very bright external display if it gets all its power from one USB port (5V, 0.5A = 2.5W). A good 14" internal display uses at least 4W at full brightness. However, Lenovo may be relying on some USB ports which can provide more than 0.5A.

Also, if we think of Thinkpad Edge is Thinkpad's prosumer counterpart.
T/L420 - E420/5
T/L520 - E520/5
T420s - E420s
X220/t, X1 - E220s
X120/1e - E125
W520 - None
None - E320/5
It just seems that the Edge series has a lot of models, because they are all grouped together instead of broken out into categories such as traditional Thinkpads are.
I think though that the AMD options should not get their own model but rather just be added to the current models, so E420 AMD and E420 Intel instead of E425 and E420. This would reduce consumer confusion and make the Edge product page less cluttered. -
All those computers and still no 13" with a capable processor and a GPU!

Though, the CPU is only a 2410M. -
I'm pretty sure they're referring to the body finish -- the Edge finish could easily be described as "soft matte". Besides, the pic in which they mention it doesn't seem to put the display as the intended subject (what with it being tilted away).

we don't want to compare to HP right now.... their Consumer PC business is not growing at all. At this rate they would have sell off their HP PC business.
Yes use suffix would be a better choice then giving it a new model name which stretches the resources of the sales and marketing even further.
