How long are Lenovo laptops supposed to last (built after 2010) . I am interested in built quality - if bough after leasing from corporation - so at least 3 years old - how long would it work on average? I know sometimes capacitors on mobo dies. Hdd of course. But generally electronics with stiff casing (business laptops) should last at least 6 years ?

Any suggestions what model of refurbishedLenovo should I look for (which i5/i7 generation is the most durable?

I have a fleet at work of a dozen T420 models, along with various other T and X models from between 2007 and now, and I don't believe I've ever had a single problem with the motherboards.

The only problem I have had in older models, especially the X60 Tablet, is the screen just getting unusably dim. The issues appear to be limited just to that one, as a couple of 14" T61 and one T60 are dim, but still usable (I didn't know how bright they were from the factory, but where they're at now is definitely not normal-looking.) With any recent LED-backlit model, however (x201, t410, t510, w510, or newer,) you should not have this problem.

In terms of a recommendation, speaking from experience, you'd probably be satisfied with any of the higher-end *20 systems, (X220 for 12", T420s for 14", W520 for 15.6".) Just get the highest-spec of each model you can find, and you'll still have a machine with 2015-relevant performance. All you may need to do is replace any cracked or worn exterior plastics, but from what I have seen, regular wear and tear will only produce cosmetic damage--replace the keyboard, palm rest, and display lid and unless the machine has been dropped down a flight of stairs, chances are you'll be good as new.
