Yeah, except you get hard drive discounts instead of Intel ABGN.

    Eh.

Correct on the wireless card, but the hard drive upgrade I'm planning on is the same price as it was last week.

Really? I haven't looked at them at all before. Right now, it's like $20 or $40 off.

I ordered with the 100GB 7200RPM last week and I just got a quote for about $14 cheaper after tax with the new sale.

Not much, but im still gonna exercise my 21 day grace period and get credited the difference. $14 is $14.

Haha. I think I'm going to upgrade the HDD to 100GB 7200RPM, so I can qualify for Tailormade. I don't get the Intel N, but I never really needed that.

Hmm dammit i see you're right. Crap. I was afraid that all the backorders and supply problems might cause them to not follow thru on a good sale. Maybe later in August like last yr? Dunno.

Lenovo is adding the R61i to the site over the past hour or so. It's kind of humorous watching the pages change, change back, change again.

Is this really their true Back to School sale? Or is it a pre-sale to try to get people to go ahead and buy, and later on in month they are going to have the real sale? Is early-July normally when Lenovo has back to school sales? And I can't seem to find an expiration date on this sale...I guess they have not made it public? How long do their sales normally last? I need a T61 before August 23...trying to decide when to buy.

If this is their true Back to School or not, it doesn't really matter. You probably won't receive your laptop a month after your order has been placed, and by the time you receive it, school has already started.

My T61 shipped 11 days after I ordered it.

And about sales, they always have one going, it just changes on what they have discounts on. Right now the sale isn't to big because of all the screw ups that they had in May.

Exactly. It's very possible that they planned to have a bigger back-to-school sale, but because of the may boondoggle and the current ongoing backlog of orders there's no reason at all for them to have a bigger sale now. Once inventories build up again maybe we'll see a Halloween sale? :p

I'm just glad that I ordered with the "tripple shareholder discount" promo. I got two X61s machines at $968 - $58 FW cashback = $910 each :) And they just shipped today, which means I'll have it in time for school in Sept :)
