I ordered a T61P and Advanced Mini Dock on Thursday night. Friday morning, the dock was shipped out, and I just checked my order status and it says the T61 billing information was received today. I went check my bank account and I have 3 charges:

    -175.91 for the dock
    -1627.84 for the t61p
    -1803.75 for BOTH

has anyone else had this problem?

Call them and yell at them. Try to get some extra discount out of it for your trouble. Companies make mistakes but Lenovo will fix it pretty quick I am sure.

Good luck getting CS do do anything for you. You'll waste hours of your time getting jerked around. Don't bother.
Make ONE call and inform them. Then file a complaint with the BBB, that'll get the ball rolling.
Also file a dispute with your credit card company. The window of time on this is pretty short, do it now.

Most likely these are temporary "holds" on your account. And those double charges are most likely fantom holds. All big companies do this, just to make sure that there are sufficient funds in your account to cover your purchases.

People always complain that Lenovo does not immediately remove these "holds" on their accounts once they canceled their order. But to remove these "holds" takes time, sometimes a week or two. This is how business is done.

In your case, once your order has shipped, the "hold" will convert to an actual charge. And by that time, those fantom holds will likely disappear as well. If not, then give Lenovo customer service and ask them to correct the problem.

And what beans do you have to pick with Lenovo?

Do you know why the Better Business Bureau never responds to individually filed single case complaints? It is because of people like you who goes out and file a complaint everytime a minor incident arises.

I see. So if I steal $1000-$2000 of your money it's OK with you right? Because it's 'minor'?
I like you. Please provide your CC and banking information so I can get my 'minor' stuff. :)

MonsterMaxx has some kind of deep personal issues with Lenovo... he comes here and lies and exaggerates to bash Lenovo.

It's such a pleasure reading your cheery responses on this forum. Why do you think your method is the only valid way to deal with Lenovo? Just because you have issues when them doesn't mean that everyone else has to use such a terse approach. Typically when dealing with issues at any company, using the honey versus vinegar approach ends with better results. If you need vinegar, keep it firm but professional.

MonsterMaxx, at this point I think you are way beyond professional on this forum. You obsession with Lenovo is scary. I hope they don't have offices near you.

If you don't realize the difference between a company making an error and a stranger blatantly stealing "$1000-2000" from you then you are a fool. Then again, that is already the case judging from your previous posts.

OP: I suggest following wave's advice. Should be an easy fix and you may get a small reward.

I'm sorry, but wasn't Maxx banned?

    And +1 to wave's idea.

I'd say you were lucky, getting some discounts on an already low-priced ThinkPad, that is if it works.

This happened to me. I just called them up and they said it was normal procedure. A authorization payment or whatever. Don't worry...they will charge you back the other payment.

Well it seems like the 1803 one was charged same day as my order, so it may be a temp hold. I'll have to wait and see until Monday if the charge disappears since both the dock and the T61 have been shipped out (3 days from order until ship for the T61P, I thought Lenovo was backed up at least 2 weeks).

That is still a shady business practice. Right now my account is missing 3600 instead of 1800, and if I didn't have more than 3600 in the account, I would be paying fees for over drawing from the account plus bounced checks.

I don't know if it's shady, but Lenovo is screwy the way they handle things. Although it's inconvenient, they'll set it straight in the end.

Monstermaxx’s subconscious selection of his avatar shows his feelings of helplessness to control anything in life. When taking measures he believes are normal, like trying to dig his way out of a situation, results in tunnel full of S***. He lacks the communication skills to simply announce his departure and leave through the front door.

Why would you use a method which gives Lenovo or anyone else in the world direct access to your bank account?

I do not use credit cards and my debit card can be used as a CC.

you don't use credit cards? wow you are missing out on a lot....unless you are some kind of millionaire...however, you did come on here posting about lenovo trying to screw you out of money, so my guess is that you are tight on money.

I don't like the idea of using credit either, however, I make sure I pay all my CC bills on time and I get almost 6% back on everything. Not only that, I got an extra year of warranty on my comp because of CC's

Eh I have student loans to build up my credit.

I'm not that tight on money (saving money by living with the parents right now), but if I was, I would be bouncing checks and having $50 overdraft fee's because of Lenovo.

The good news is, 2 days from order to ship, and I got an LG screen :). Now I just have to clear the money problem up tomorrow if it doesn't clear up itself.

Even though that may be the case, which is with me, I still use CC because I get an extra year of warranty on all my major electronic purchases and if any company tries to screw me over, my CC company has my back and has me covered. A good example is my parents paid the 2 year contract with Sun Rocket last year. When sun rocket went bust just recently, amex refunded the full 100% back. That is something a debit card will never do for you...

Yea, theres pros and cons to everything. I'm sure I'll eventually end up with one, but I'd like to put it off for as long as possible.

Warranty extensions depends on the CC, AmEx used to give an additional year, but only if the original warranty was 1 yr or less (This was in fine print.).
