My machine bought 3 years ago had a warranty of 3 years. I called to extend the warranty, but was told I had already upgraded it from 1 year to 3 years when I purchased it, and that's all allowed, only 1 upgrade. So I can't get warranty extension.
In the past I was always able to call when my 3 year warranty is about to expire and extend 2 more years.
So is this a new rule? Shouldn't Lenovo make this clear to the buyer when we order the machine?

I do believe the one warranty upgrade policy is legit. Did it come with a three year warranty or was it added later? You might want to post this on Lenovo forums cause you'll get access to Lenovo staff.

When I ordered it, I customized it. The default choice was 1 years, but there were options of 3 year (and maybe other lengths), with additional charge. So I chose 3 year. Therefore, I got the 3 year upon purchase. However I think the invoice made it look like it's an upgrade from 1 year to 3 year. Maybe it's a trick?
By Lenovo forums do you mean there are forums on Lenovo's official website? I haven't found it.
Thanks for the reply. -
