OK, I know that there was several estimated shipment threads in the past, but I don't think this one was answered.
I ordered an X301 about a week ago. And, on my order summary online, it says it's estimated ship date is 1-04-2010. That's right, almost 2 MONTHS from today. Now, I do understand (from reading the other threads) that Lenovo almost always ships at least a week or more before the ship date. So, I figured I'd call up Lenovo customer service, and see whats going on. I call them up, and asked them for a ship date. They told me it will ship out on 11-18-09. That's two days from today. My question is, why is it that when I look up my order online, it still says that it will ship in January ?? Am I missing something here ? I told the Lenovo rep. that it says January online, and he just said don't worry, it will ship on Nov. 18.
Anyone ever go through this before ? If it really does ship out on the 18th, I will be REALLY impressed with Lenovo !!
Anyone who can shed any light on this would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get my new X301 before the next X302 comes out lol

Their ordering system is very inaccurate. I wouldn't worry about it. I think it will ship out in 2 days. I think this happens sometimes when a certain part in your config is backordered due to shortage etc and they want to cover themselves. This happened to me when I ordered my T61p and configured it with a 9 cell battery. This was when that battery plant burned down and there was a shortage of batteries. My estimated ship time was a month but I got my machine in 10 days and that includes the time from order to door step.

I'd say typical is 2 weeks. It took about 3 weeks to get my machine when it launched.

Cool, thanks for the reassurance guys :) I know as soon as it ships, it will change from "in process", to Shipped (along with the tracking number, the day after it shipped).
Yes though, I do agree, Lenovo does need to revamp thier order status page. It always says "in process", untill it ships (at least it was that way when I ordered my T61 a few years back). Oh well, someday they will change it around.

Well, a little update, my new X301 was shipped out today !!!
But, as what The Fire Snake has said, thier web site order status page is VERY inaccurate. They still had an estimated ship date of January 4, 2010 up until this AM, where it changed from "In Process" to "Your order has shipped". Oh well, still I am very impressed with Lenovo's customer service. I called them this AM, they guy I spoke with was very friendly, gave me a tracking number, apologized for the miss-information, etc. So, now I'm anxiously awaiting my new X301 :)

A lot of times their site says "In Process" indefinitely, well after you have received your machine. Congrats on your new machine!
