I ordered my T500 at the beginning of this month on 10/2/2009, with an estimated ship date of 10/19/2009. My estimated ship date has now changed to 11/2/2009, which concerns me..
So I decided to call in today and was assured that it will be shipping this week, even though the estimated ship date is 11/2/2009.
After reading about all the Lenovo shipping issues in the past I can't help but worry. Should I be?

Well it is an estimate so you have a risk but who is to say precisely how high that risk is.
Basically is it worth it to cancel and order another laptop? Or is waiting potentially 2 weeks worth it? It will probably ship before that though unless there is some drastic shortage on your part. -
I received my T400 like a week and a half before the estimated ship date, although it never changed.

You think that's bad, my package is sitting about 90miles away and has been since yesterday morning but due to me being in a "remote location" the scheduled date is for tomorrow. I am hoping it comes today but seriously, it is two hours drive if that and on a main road.

I never look at the shipping schedule... because it is so inaccurate... one of my laptop shipped in 4 days.... another took nearly 4 weeks..... and the shipping date was all the same 2 weeks.. so go figure....
-
Wow what a bummer...
I'm in the same boat: 11/02/09, even if I took 2 day shipping.
I'm only in the states for 1 week, i hope i'll get it in time

I decided to see what Lenovo would say if i called again..so I called again this morning. Now a different person tells me something completely different. He says that the order was sent to the warehouse today and will be shipped on or before 11/2/09. That makes absolutely no sense since I ordered at the beginning of the month.
I guess they will just tell you something random everytime you call.. -
They just say that to make you stop bugging them. But being sent to the warehouse just means they are starting actual production of your unit.
-
Are all Lenovo's being shipped from the same warehouse? China?
I ordered a T500 too, about a week ago. I hope that isn't delayed. -
Depends if some components are out of stock. When I was building a W500 and an R400, the ship date was way later for one of them if I added a DVD burner. Like 3-4 weeks more.

I ordered T500 yesterday....but told them to hold the build so it has Win 7....Ship date is estimated as Tues Nov. 3rd

alright... enjoy the laptop...

I ordered my X200 tablet on 10/8 and got a ship date of 10/30. Then Lenovo shipped it on 10/18. I would like to think that they initially give a far-out ship date to lower expectations, which makes it easier for them to meet or beat those expectations.
My tablet should be here in two days - woot! The two 24" LCD monitors that it'll drive on my desktop arrive today.

I ordered my Y550 on 9/22. The estimated ship date was 10/13. Three days later, I was notified that they had had to cancel and resubmit my order. I checked and the new ship date was 10/16. By then, I'd found this forum and was starting to worry as the new "ship date" got closer. Sure enough, on the morning of 10/16, the date was changed to 10/27 - no notification. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't checked.
Just now, I received an order confirmation (!) telling me my order had been received - it was identical to the one I received back on 9/22 except for the order #. I checked the website, and the date was changed to 11/2!
I'm torn over whether to just cancel the order and buy another Dell. I really liked my last Dell, but the Lenovo deal was too good to pass up - too good to be true, perhaps? I received the spare Y550 battery I ordered back on 9/28, so I would have to also send that back and make sure I get a refund - annoying.
This latest change could just mean that something's finally happening, but given others' experiences on the phone with them it seems a complete waste of my time to call and ask.
I'm thinking I'll give it another week - if it hasn't shipped, I'll cancel. At any rate, I certainly won't be recommending Lenovo to friends and family (I get asked for advice a lot). -
I'd say give them a call anyways and see what's up. The nice thing is there is almost always no wait time to talk to a live person. My order is starting to look like yours...

When the laptop is first released at full price, the shipping schedule is more accurate, during time of fire sale the shipping time can drag out... because everyone orders these laptops during discount season......
It is a matter of opportunity costs....
Lenovo estimated ship dates..
