When I checked different models on their website, I noticed just a little while ago that estimated ship dates on nearly all models have increased dramatically, many from 9 days to 18, and the T400 are "4 weeks or more". The U150 is still 5 days, so should I be worried? I just ordered a U150 from them yesterday, hope it gets to me on time.![]()

It is what it is. If you think there's going to be a delay you can always cancel and order from elsewhere.

Chinese new year on its way

HA that's actually pretty funny that it's boosting the ship times

We went through this discussion last year if I recall...
While that might be true I would hope lenovo is smart up to correctly manage its supply chain. -

in the UK it all went from 1-2 weeks, to 3-4 weeks yesterday ... go figure. People who buy laptops at least myself, need them now, not in 4 weeks. Imagine Starbucks saying, oh that coffee you will get in 4 hours ... or your ISP tells you we will come and connect you in 4 weeks! 1 week is acceptable, 10 days max. Beyond that in my view it is bad business practice / ethics. Imagine if you order an X200 series now you get it when the new model is already out ... then again what is the point in announcing new models if you cannot deliver them. Well they did with the X100 and the Edge but they are the cheapos. it is also not very smart from a business point of view since apart from the die hard thinkpad fans you may simply lose customers who cannot be bothered waiting and simply buy something they CAN get. I don't see this delivery problem with Sony and HP, at least not around here, in fact you can just about walk into any of their stores and get the latest and the best. Hey maybe they decided it was time to put some nice screens on the Thinkpads and that is why it will take longer ? Ooops sorry I caught myself dreaming again.

I really wish you hadn't told me that...
My ship date is this Friday... I hope it isn't a Lemon due to someone rushing to finish it before a holiday! -

Lenovo makes their product in China so delivery dates will slip over Chinese New Year. -

Ok I just talked to a main Lenovo dealer in the UK. He told me that the lead times had changed because indeed of the Chinese New Year. Lenovo closes for a full 2 weeks ! So after this Friday they can put no new orders through at all until the beginning of March ! I find that incredible, I don't think I know any company around me that shuts for 2 weeks when our X-mas comes around. He also told me no use in waiting for a new x200 series as they will become available in the USA probably mid March and us poor Europeans will be lucky if we can take delivery of a new model some time beginning of May ! OUCH
-
What about orders that are already being processed? Does EVERYTHING close for two weeks, or are they just working at a lower capacity?
-
Mine is set to ship after 5 weeks!!!
-
Ok that's a little ridiculous... As a small business owner I need it now - or at the VERY least 2 weeks, not in a month.
Bad timing
-
fwiw HP is doing the same to the elitebooks. of course theyre not saying any shipping will be delayed they're just saying the estimated ship date is the 17th then if you call in and specifically ask they say more like march.
-
mine changed from 19th to march 10th or something.
I cancelled my order and ordered a premade one in ebay.
10% bing discount made it $685 shipped.

4gb ram, 320gb 7200rpm, led backlit, camera, 6 cell, bluetooth, and a faster processor P8700 vs P8400..
but i did miss out on WXGA+...
and I dont know if this one has the media card readers or not. -
Ugh this is rediculous. I think I'm going to cancel my order and get it through Amazon.
-
Darn. My x200 has an estimated ship date of 2/11 (before it was an estimated ship date of 2/4). I'm hoping it won't be delayed again otherwise I might not get it by mid-March when I'll actually need it.
-
My estimated ship date is still 2/15, and the order page says Lenovo expects to ship my items by the est. ship date. I wonder. I'm going to call them and find out what's going on. If there's going to be a delay, I'm cancelling.
-
OMG, so I just called Lenovo, and the rep put me on hold for a minute and came back and said, there is no holiday and all orders are shipping out on schedule.
He assured me my order would be shipping early. I told him I checked Lenovo's site, and the estimated shipping dates have increased dramatically, as well as I've been reading "online" about the upcoming holiday. He insisted there was no holiday... I'm not sure what to think.
-
Besides, all other companies, including your suppliers and vendors, are closed. There is really not much you can do other than shutting down and reopening in two weeks. -
tablin, that's not what i got.
mine changed to march 10th i think. -
-
Also, if an order IS delayed, the workers will be refreshed when they get back and will probably be doing a better job of putting our machines together -
-

Fair enough if they do not have another holiday then by all means take 2 weeks. If our only inconvenience is the wait then so be it. To all the workers at Lenovo China, have a happy New Year with some great food, family around, and best of luck and happiness for your New Year !
-
I guess I can't complain too much since it is a holiday. Besides, Lenovo isn't the only one who builds in China. I got a good price for mine so I'll be satisfied as long as I get it by the middle of March without any problems. I ordered mine 1/27 and it currently has an estimated ship of 3/1.
Anyway, happy new year! -
-
I'm still thinking of cancelling, but I keep sitting on it, hoping the order status gets changed from "in process" to "shipped".
-
in my experience the estimated shipping dates provided by lenovo are completely unreliable and inaccurate. I once placed order at the end of april, the estimated shipping date was in end of june (??????), but the machine shipped in 2 days.
similar thing happened when i ordered my T400s, the estimated time was 12 days, i placed order on thursday, and it was shipped on the following tuesday.
the entire system is totally bogus in my opinion. -
I looked at my status, it still says IN PROCESS... Im gonna call tomorrow, it better have canceleld.
-
-
lol i canceleld it yesterday and ordered a premade one from ebay lol.
-
Ok, I just called Lenovo to cancel the order, but he said that he can only submit a cancellation request with the wharehouse, but if they don't get it in time they will still ship it out to me. Is that true?
I will say he was very nice and honest, and admitted there was a chinese holiday from Feb 10 to the 19th. -
what phone number did you use? because their support says it closes at 7 pm eastern.
-
-
-
it says "regular hours of operation is 9am to 7pm eastern time. plz call back" etc etc
-
-
ok i chose a different department lol. they said they have to send it to their warehouse and it takes 2 business days.
i will be expecting an answer tom. if not, around 5pm ill call them and say i just cancelled the card i put in for the order (paypal virtual credit card ftw) -
I placed an oder for a T410 on Jan 31. I called Wednesday and my rep told me that my estimated ship date is Feb 18th. I hope he was right! I am going to call again tomorrow and see what they say.
-
-
-
Well this is interesting. 2 hours after I cancel my order, I get an email notification (with tracking info) that my order has shipped.
 Guess I'm getting it after all.
-
seems like you have to be on the verge of canceling it before it ships
-
-
My T410 order that had an est ship of 2/11 since I ordered on 2/2 changed to 3/3 this morning. I already called yesterday to cancel since I figured it would be delayed.
Oh well
Lenovo has increased estimated shipping dates on their website
