Bought an x200 on the 23rd, it shipped on the 3rd, and today it cleared customs in Kentucky, and has a scheduled delivery date of tomorrow. My credit card hasn't seen anything from Lenovo yet...can you say free laptop? No, but really, when does this thing post on my account? It's an AMEX, if that matters.

In the UK if they don't take the money or contact you about it in 6 years it`s free

That's so bad. Call them up and let them know.

Don't worry lol
When it's delivered they'll charge the CC. -

What happens if he cancels his credit card just when it's delivered?

Bottomline: don't. Even if you were to get away with it initially, you would be registered as a non/bad payer, which at least in my country will strip you of all chances to get any type of credit or loan in the future.
If the selling company is slow to bill you due to their own inefficient processes, that is their problem. But if you buy something you pay for it. -

its analogous to running out of Best Buy with a NB and into your car and taking off. You guys are immature. Just let them know or return it.

It's funny that on the front page of this forum theres a thread about someone who was charged multiple times for an order
. I got my x200s two days ago, and I have still not been charged. I'm going to call Lenovo next week - I haven't had a chance to yet because I'm in the middle of finals week at my school (I'm actually writing this from a campus library
). Of course I have full intentions to pay, I'm just surprised that they still haven't charged it even after delivery has been made.
-
I think I should order a laptop now
-
As I just wrote in another thread, same thing happened to me. A netbook was ordered on 11/30, I finally received it this past Friday, 12/11, and as of today, 12/14, my cc has not been charged, or at least does not show up online.
The card is also an Amex.
Of the others who reported this, has anyone seen a charge yet? Has anyone spoken to Lenovo about it? -
I actually found it odd too, I ordered and noticed my card wasn't billed yet. Looks like it will make the next billing cycle!
-
Not so. Received the notebook Friday, still not charged now, Monday evening. -
Its been a week since my laptop was delivered. No charge.
Why wont I feel guilty about this?
Because I placed order then called them to upgrade warranty. After being put on hold for 30 mins, they said that they wont upgrade the warranty now because it might delay the order. When I got the laptop, I called them and they said that I cant upgrade at the same price anymore and I have to pay 3 times more for the same warranty.
Hope those b******* go bankrupt. -

Seems like a bunch of Bernie Madoff's in the making. What if you say found a bag with lots of money in it? I bet you guys would keep it? But it could be an old lady's life savings or some kid's college money. Give it back. Do the right thing.

You mean that if they didn't charge you, you would call and wait on hold a half hour, just to tell them that they did not charge you?
I doubt you would. But you think it fun to call others 'Bernie Madoff in the making". Silly thing to say.
I'm not saying people should close their CC, as omeone jokingly suggested. That wouldn't work anyhow. if they discover they did not bill you, and charge the card, and it doesn't work, they will mail you a bill. If not paid, it would go to collection agency. That would be a dumb thing to do, but i don't think anyone seriously suggested it.
However--it is our responsibility to call them to say they didn't bill us? I don't think so. (I would guess they will eventually bill us, but it is strange it is taking so long.)
My CC still has not been charged. -

Are all those who have not been billed with Amex cards? Or others as well? -
Still not billed...paid with Amex.

I cannot even check the order status, the page is down. I'll call Lenovo and ask'em if I'll get my laptop after all.
-
It will be charged eventually (i.e. within the month). Don't get too excited.
You don't need to "turn yourself in." You haven't done anything wrong.
Just don't spend the money that you planned on paying for the laptop with.
As far as the "found" money or "stolen" analogy goes: THEY SHIPPED IT TO YOU. You didn't swim over to China, walk into their warehouse, and yank a laptop off the supply line. They took special care to build, slap a "intel inside" sticker on it, and handed to the guys in brown shorts to drop at your doormat.
If you want to contact anyone, talk to AmEx. They are the people you're paying, NOT Lenovo.
Your credit is in their hands, regardless if you're buying a laptop or a cheeseburger. -
Still not charged.
-
Still not charged either. Computer ordered 11/30, received 12/10, I signed for delivery, so they know I got it. A week after receipt, my card has not been billed.
Something is very strange about this. It may possibly eventually be a front page newspaper story, and on television news.
I received an e-mail from Lenovo earlier this week. I thought it would say something about the billing. Instead, it gave me the tracking number for the shipment, long after I had received it! Of course, the tracking page on UPS showed it had been delivered and signed for.
Has this not happened to any Visa or Mastercard users, but only Amex?
I'm not sure what to do, because I intend to return the netbook. I expected the S10 I ordered would have an express card slot (see other thread), and it doesn't. So now I have ordered one from PC Connection that does have the express card slot, and wish to return the one from Lenovo Outlet.
I would have called Lenovo to get an RMA already this past Monday, but thought I would wait first, to see if I have been billed for it. (After all, how can I ask for a refund, for an order that was never billed?) (For instance, after hours on hold, they might tell me to check back to see if I have been billed, before they can issue the RMA.) (Now, it would be very interesting if they refunded me for money I did not pay. Very unlikely though.)
So, I have been waiting to see if I have been billed, before calling for the RMA. Since they only have a 21 day return policy (not from the date the buyer receives it, until he can send it back, but from the date Lenovo ships it, until the day they receive it back. Now, it has been 7 days since receipt, more since they sent it. I guess in a few days, at the most a week, I will have to call Lenovo about the RMA, even if still not billed.
The whole thing is very screwy! -
It maybe something with the banks. Rest assure, you will be charged sooner or later.
And canceling the CC will not work. Because once you place the other there will be a pending on your account. To the best of my knowledge banks will not let you cancel until all the transactions are clear. -

They charged my credit card already but no word of the tracking number.

On checking this evening, i see that my card was finally charged. Funny too, the date listed for the tranasaction was 12/02, just a couple days after I placed the order, long before I received the notebook. Yet, it didn't show up on the last statement, which closed out on 12/15. And it didn't show online a couple days ago, on Fri the 17th., I see it there for the first time tonight.
Sure was strange.
Well, I guess I had better call tomorrow to get that RMA, and ship it back. Any tips on getting through to get that RMA, without having to wait hours on the phone? Any way online, or by e-mail? -
Hmm...still not charged.
-
Finally charged!
Lenovo hasn't charged my CC...
