    Lenovo having issues with UPS Tracking

    My x61 finally shipped on 12/11 but with the provided tracking number I haven't been able to track it!

    I called Lenovo today and it seems as if they are having a number of issues with UPS right now and tracking the laptops that shipped. 2 reps told me I'm not the only one with the issue!

    How about you guys?

    Maybe it will just show up at my door?

    My wife ordered her x61 tablet on 10/28 and it just shipped on 12/9 and we finally got it on 12/11.

    The tracking number worked partly from UPS, I found the online data was inaccurate and had to call UPS directly to get the real ESD of 12/11.

    Try calling UPS directly for International shipments and provide them the tracking number you have and see if they can provide more details than their online website.

    I possibly have the same issue with my shipping. The message is:
    THE SHIPMENT IS BEING HELD BY BROKERAGE FOR REASONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL

    I wonder what that's about? Maybe, it has something to do with coming from China?

    I think there is something wrong with UPS.
    It has already been delayed. Is there any penalty to Ups for the late shipping?

    Yeah all those messages above regard customs.

    I'm not able to pull up ANY info whatsoever with the tracking number provided by lenovo. Even the reps today tried to track the package using ups and were boggled by the fact nothing was coming up.

    Later in the day did they discover that people are not being able to track their packages... anyone else?

    i have no idea where my laptop is right now, all it says on the lenovo status is that it shipped and they told me it did for sure 2 days ago..

    Hey man! I'm having the SAME ISSUE. My X61 was "SHIPPED" on 12/11 and the UPS Tracking number provided by the Lenovo website & Lenovo rep. over the phone is showing up as invalid with UPS. When I call UPS they say the package hasn't even been shipped because it's not even scanned in or any billing info received. It's basically not in UPS possession they say.

    Then.. I call Lenovo and they say that they have the wrong tracking #'s sent out to us. Then another rep says it'll take another 24-48 hours to update with UPS. Then yet another rep says to wait 3-5 days then call back. ARRR!!

    I'm so glad I found this thread. I am having the same exact problem as theend451 and h335.

    According to the lenovo website, my laptop shipped on 12/11 two-day so it should have arrived yesterday (12/13), but the UPS website said the tracking number hadn't shipped.

    I've spoken with a bunch of their reps in customer service who told me that the laptop definitely did ship and would get to me on time - there was just a mixup with the UPS number. But after my laptop didn't arrive yesterday, and again today, I called again and they told me that it'll come when it comes, that sometimes these things happen, and there's nothing they can do about it. If I'm patient, eventually someone will get back to me from the shipping department after they've figured out the mixup.

    Meanwhile, my credit card has been charged and who knows if my laptop has been stolen in transit, is still being assembled in China, or is just sitting in limbo on a truck in freezing cold weather causing some wear that I won't notice when I finally get it until it breaks one day for no reason?

    I'm sure this isn't very helpful for other folks, but I really needed to vent and wanted others to know they weren't alone. I'm glad to hear that at least there are others with this issue so we can communicate as this develops.

    Wow I can totally understand your frustration right now. Some of the reps are clueless about what is going on.

    You can PM me and next time give my order number to the supervisor to let him know this is no FREAK OCCURENCE. There truly is no trace of my laptop but the fac that it does say SHIPPED.

    I wish I had my laptop right now and this is pissing me off. I have filed 3 different case notes with Lenovo customer care in order to get a call back with status but it has been over 24 hours with no feedback!!!

    I guarantee there are a lot others going through this problem that are not forum savvy or know this forum even exists.

    This just sucks. What can we do? Anyone else going through the same?

    I actually got a call back from Lenovo and they informed me that the TRACKING # IS CORRECT!! They said wait another 24-48 hrs for it to update with UPS. I say this is BS because it should have arrived by now.

    Yep.. they said the same thing the first time I called in days ago with this issue. I think the truck carrying the laptops to the airport vanished.

    I'm in the same boat guys. Ordered my x61 on 10/26, shipped the 11th....tracking number doesn't work. Called lenovo and they said they'd look into finding the right tracking number and get back to me in 24-48 hours.....I just hope that it's good quality like the old IBM TPs were. Could this be a sign of things changing? I hope not....Let people know if/when you get your TP.

    THEY CALLED ME BACK!! The rep at least did that! She said that the research dept. for the shipping said that the TRACKING NUMBERS were CORRECT! Very hard to believe, UNLESS Lenovo will ship them tonight, but it's already 5:57 a.m. in China soo they aren't shipping tonight.

    I think they are lost somewhere....

    man I think they shipped but have the wrong tracking information...a couple reps told me they definitely shipped; but then i see the your new update says otherwise...

    isnt it interested how others are popping up who are having the same problem. i am so pissed, finals this next week and no thinkpad...

    they are the same old thinkpads guys lol, the operations management is mistaken with getting these out, not with their build... dont worry about that! its not the laptops that are doing the decision making!@#

    any new news? im going to call right now again, I think we should gather all of our order numbers here in a post and someone call with all of them! whos down!?

    laptop didnt come today and im pissed.

    today is the 14th, another 3 days.. who the hell knows if it will even show up on monday.

    oops, thats right, no one knows because we dont have legit tracking info...lenovo is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. this thinkpad is too hot to cancel or I would have already. its loyalty to the thinkpad machine that is keeping me here. i dont care if Great Quality made the thinkpad, i'd still buy it because its a thinkpad. lenovo's operations are horrible.


    i was getting the run around all day today about it will come because it was for sure shipped so two days from the 11th would secure a friday the 14th delivery. HEH YEAH RIGHT

    CC chargeback dispute will go in on Monday night if no update tracking info is available then and the reps still say "check back 24-48 hrs."

    Estimated Ship Time 12/26 (although they told me it would take a week or 2)
    Shipped on 12/11

    UPS tracking number that they gave me says: >>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later.

    I called just right now and these people are clueless. They tell me that they see my numerous calls in the log. She said they are waiting on a "NEW" tracking number from UPS and they have not contacted us yet. One rep told me it would come yesterday or the day before... One rep told me they don't know whats going on and another rep told me call monday for the new tracking number.

    This rep told me to call monday for the new tracking number as well. I was getting the run around once again and asked for a Supervisor that apparently is not available on the weekends. :(

    I just want to know where the hell the laptop is and when am I going to get it. Seems a lot of people are having this issue. Forum threads are popping up... new people like above are posting...

    I cant believe it takes mroe then 48-72 hours to even get an idea of what is going on? ...

    It's VERY frustrating. Esp. for me as my parents have sold our house and we're moving out to AZ in less than three weeks and I still have finals next week to finish. Crazy... to say the least!

    As I said before if this isn't resolved by monday (with at least a correct or working tracking #) I'm filing a dispute with the credit card.

    UPDATE

    Lenovo has just told me (after I called in) that they will check with UPS one final time and if there is no information that they can provide as to why the package isn't showing up anywhere that they will have to issue a lost package refund. Also, a new order will have to be placed "which will take up to 3 weeks to receive." I should get a call back in a few hours from rep.

    Exactly same here, including all the nonsenses from CS.

    Ordered 11/26, website said shipped 12/11, 2-day shipment. Not yet received by 12/15. 14:30.

    Once I got a supervisor, Jennifer, and she told me it is not Lenovo's fault, UPS should be responsible ?!

    Like most things in life, I try to at least find one good thing out of a bad situation. Do I at least win the award for waiting longest for their TP? I ordered mine on 10/26.....One thing that I think is true but not sure, Did everyone else who "lost" their TP order a X61?

    Dear Mr. Churbuck,

    I am writing this letter to possibly find answers to my current Lenovo order. Order: ******

    My order was placed on November 30th and shipped December 11th. When checking online via the UPS tracking number provided, it is not able to find the package. There is no recollection of the package or origin scanning/billing; nothing. I have called UPS numerous times with the tracking number and they are clueless. UPS made it aware that Lenovo has not shipped my order.

    Further, after dozens of calls to Lenovo, I have heard that my order has shipped and then I have heard I may have to cancel and reorder. On the Internet, there are a lot of other people who are posting forum threads who are experiencing the same exact problem. Here is a thread that is full of at least 20 Lenovo customers who are experiencing the same problem and extremely disappointed: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=197646.

    Ultimately, I am not looking to cancel my order because I am an avid Thinkpad fan; however, I am extremely disappointed with Lenovo. I have no idea what is going on with Lenovo's Operations Management but whoever is making the decisions is obviously not doing his or her job. We have even studied Lenovo's Operations issues with order fulfillment and now shipping in our Decision Science course at the University of San Diego Olin School of Business. It is just horrible and unprofessional that I have to take my time to contact someone who works for Lenovo directly to find answers.

    I want an answer and I need my laptop. I am sitting here empty handed with my credit card already charged. If you can address this issue and find some real, legitimate answers for us that would appreciated. We are all tired of getting the run around from the customer care department. One person says white, the other says black.

    I hope Lenovo fixes their act and their entire operations. I appreciate your help.

    I have a strong feeling Lenovo messed up and I will never get my X61.

    And to the bad service I got from Lenovo - I called Lenovo 12/11 once I confirmed with UPS that the tracking number was incorrect. They said they are going to check and call me back. I never got the call back and when I called today, they did not find any notes or information regarding to the case. It seemed nobody checked this in the past 4 days. Should I trust them one more time?

    I guess I am like you guys too, shipped: 12/13/2007, still invalid at the UPS tracking. though only 3 days, by Tuesday if it still invalid, I am definitely pissed off.

    1st, they wont tell us when it will be shipped, now they don't whether it's been shipped or where the package is.

    This is extremely ****, this supposed to be my 1st ever thinkpad. I guess, I am not sure what the meaning of "reliability" said by all these people who convinced me to buy thinkpad over the gorgeous-looking Sony or Panasonic.

    Just be patient, I know you all are frustrated. It'll all work out.

    It's very close to the holidays so shipping will be a little screwy but it'll be there sooner than you think, just go upon your day and be surprised when it gets there. :)

    And WOW, h335's post on thinkpad.com is solid as hell. Sure got me riled up and I'm not even waiting for a ThinkPad.
