I have a lonovo ideapad z580 that i bought about a year ago, a problem that keeps happening is that the screen would freeze and become all scrambled to horizontal lines all of a sudden with no particular reason and there isn't any certain thing that i would do so that this problem would happen, once i would be using office word and once watching a movie and once using adobe illustrator.. i took it to my service providers here in Jordan and they are the worst service providers ever.. they took it 5 times and kept returning it telling me there is no problem with it.. please please help :(

I have the same issue on my Z580 running Windows 8.1. I found "Kernel-Power" errors on my Windows Event Viewer screen after i forced to power off. I have this issue after updating my bios. Did you update your bios like me?

I have already found that When i forced the laptop opposite sides of the edges (acceptable forces of course :) like armresting), this freeze issue occurs. It maybe a intermittent cable problem or smthg...

I planning to take it to a service providers before november. But I have the same issue about services providers in here :)
