1) Lenovo Canada just implemented a new ordering system.
The Good: You can finally custom config your notebook in Canada.
The Bad: Lenovo have yet to figure out how to track your order after you place it so you will have no clue when your notebook will be ready. And right now your order will likely take 1 to 1.5 months to deliver. My Jan-4th order arrived Feb-8th to give you an idea of current build times in Canada.
2) Sorry, no idea how educational discounts apply to Canada. -

"We have included your complete order information below. If you have any questions
about your order please call Lenovo Sales toll free at (866)428-4465
or e-mail [email protected]."
This might sound stupid, but according to taht email address, I'm thinking that's Canada. Does that mean I ordered from the Canada site? -
The "ca" in the email address is suspicious. The phone number you gave is the same as the sales number on both the Canadian and American websites. Your best bet is to call the number and ask if there has been a screw-up.

A student discount is available at the following address:
http://shoplenovo.i2.com/SEUILibrar...studentcompca&ConfigContext=StdAffinityPortal
Don't forget to also check visaperks.ca if you are purchasing your computer with a Visa card, although the savings appear to be similar between these two sites. -
Can't wait!

Have you checked out the pre-configured models available? If you find a pre-configured model with the features you want, it may be cheaper than an equivalent CTO model. The pre-configured model may also come with a 3 year warranty whereas all CTO models have only a 1 year warranty (not all pre-configured models have 3 years though).
The model I'm considering is the 7664-1ju, but since I don't need it right away I'm waiting until there's a Penryn equivalent for it. Not to mention Lenovo seems to be out of stock of these at the moment.
