Lenovo laptop shipping confusion!

Ok so I purchased a lenovo y410p on Feb 26, and on March 10 I finally got a email for shipping confirmation with a tracking number. I tried to use the tracking number but it didn't work. The next day March 11 I tried the tracking number and it says the order processing ready for UPS message. Now today is the 14th and I still haven't been able to track the shipment. I contacted lenovo and they said that it definitely shipped and would have to go through customs I guess. Then I contacted UPS and they gave me the generic explanation of what the Order processing message means no help at all. I am so confused as to what is going on with the shipping because I can't track it at all and UPS and lenovo keep giving me different answers. Anyone that has dealt with something like this? I just want to be able to track what is going on so I can know what day to be at home to sign for it.

 

It usually takes 1-2 days for it to actually ship after you have received the shipping confirmation email. You should call Lenovo and ask them to contact UPS on your behalf. Lenovo is a priority customer for UPS and they have a dedicated team to answer their shipping related questions. I once called Lenovo to get them to get UPS to hold the shipment at the depot and the Lenovo customer rep put me in conference call with UPS and they sorted everything out within minutes.

Wait till Monday and if it still does not ship, contact Lenovo and ask them to contact UPS to figure things out.

 

Also, if you sign up for UPS MY CHOICE, they send you an e-mail, the day before the delivery is scheduled. It's free! :thumbsup:

UPS: Tracking Information

Yes, I know this doesn't help your situation, because UPS does not begin the on-line tracking, until the laptop arrives in country, and clears customs. Still, if you sign up for My Choice, you can adjust the delivery time, and change a few other options. (IIRC you can also authorize your neighbor to sign for your package)

I've been using this service for a few years, as I get meds from my Medicare pharmacy, through UPS. Heck, I rarely "track" anything at the website. I just check my mailbox for the "heads up" from UPS.

 

I'm in the same boat as you. Ordered my y410p on Feb 28th lenovo said it shipped March 10th and I'm still waiting for my tracking information to change. I've called lenovo and they continuously lie to me. I got pretty upset once and got 10% off the purchasing price, but we will see if that actually happens. I've been told it's been shipped by a third party and it's in customs, been told it's still waiting for ups, and been told that I need to contact ups. Ups just says lenovo is who I need to talk to because they haven't received the package yet. So ill wait till Monday and see if anything changes. Probably do what anandoc suggested.

 

I've also been told that it shipped but might have misssd a scan and also that UPS needs to update. Lenovo seems confident that it shipped because they've told that over and over. I contacted lenovo and rep gave me his personal email to contact him on Monday so i guess we will see what is going on tomorrow.

 

Yeah I guess we will see tomorrow. I've also been told that the lenovo rep was emailing the manufacturer floor manager and they would be emailing me back within 24 hours. It's been a few days and haven't received anything. Lol ill let you know what I figure out tomorrow.

 

ok so this morning i see that my UPS finally updated and it says that it is scheduled for delivery at the end of today. So, well see about that. Anything new on your end?

 

I'm getting the same thing. Says it was export scanned in Shanghai. But nothing else has changed. I think it's still in Shanghai and we probably won't see our laptops till I'd say Wednesday or Thursday. That's my guess. I hope... lol

 

Yep looking like it because my schudule delivery day changed to unavailable lol. What I gather from this situation is that Lenovo created the shipping labels on March 10 but didnt actually ship the orders until yesterday afternoon china time. I don't know why they just didn't tell us they didn't ship them yet instead of lying saying they shipped or that they were in customs. Why blame it on UPS when they never got the orders in to begin with. Hoping they come tomorrow or wednesday at the lastest I am so over this lenovo shipping thing.

 

My actual shipping date was on the 10th but estimated for the 17th also my estimated delivery date was also the 17th, i found that kinda odd. Lol but I agree, the shipping time is awful! From what I'm reading is that when we receive our laptops it's worth the wait.

 

I just made this account because all of you are having the EXACT same problem as me. I ordered my Y410p (the $749.99 model) On February 27th. Didn't receive any notification about shipping until March 10th. Then, once I got my tracking code, it did not work out all, it would take me to the UPS page and say "You have to wait" or something like that. I figured maybe they just didn't get around to it. Woke up this morning to an email saying it would be out for delivery from 12:30 - 4:30 so I sat waiting from 12 until now. I thought that FINALLY, I would receive it after waiting almost a whole month for it but I guess not. Upon wasting time, I decided to check the UPS tracking and it said the export shipping time was around 5:10pm in Shanghai or so (it's 3:50 currently in Ohio, so idk the time differences) I'm very aggravated for their "mistake." Never ordering off of their site again.

 

UPS updated my delivery date to Thursday the 20th.

 

Same here. Lets hope it will actually be the 20th this time...

 

I have more faith in ups then lenovo. But I think the only thing that will stop us from getting our computers on the 20th is customs

 

i got the same thing, they had me thinking it would actually come today. I m just happy it looks like they actually shipped this time.

 

True I think UPS will get the job done for sure. Maybe even a day earlier? I don't think we'll have to wait much longer. FINALLY. haha

 

Stuck in Louisville, KY, United States right now. From what I know that's where customs is. Hope it's in and out. Hope it's literally not "stuck"

That looks odd it doesnt show a departure from shangai. Either your package shipped super fast or its not really in KY yet and the tracking is just being glitchy.

 

That does seem odd. Maybe yours is actually with ours or yours arrived ahead of schedule and is just waiting to ship with ours? Wouldn't exactly make sense but I've seen dumber things happen. Not sure why they just don't ship it rather than holding it at the warehouse. Here is what mine currently says:

 

Idk if it missed the scar for departure or not but I hope it's just in customs haha. Yours should be updating soon. Takes like 13 hours or so from shanghai to the us

 

It's like they are just toying with us and knowing that we are slowly dying inside haha Okay great, I'm guessing sometime within the next 6 hours or so. And then it will probably depart early in the morning from Kentucky and arrive at the local UPS facility later tomorrow. Keep us updated when yours finally leaves!

mrfnfantasic i think your order is with ours since its the same laptop and lenovo ships in batches, ur tracking may have gotten ahead it happens sometimes.

However, my delivery time is "not available" anymore and now I'm worrying we won't get them by the 20th like I've been hoping on. Alaska to Ohio in a day seems very unlikely to me, as much as I wish it were possible. There isn't even a departure scan yet.

I guess we can only hope. I'll be pissed if it goes passed the set 3/20 date like it was originally supposed to be. Getting tired of the "Here's when it's coming" date and then the "lol ya rite, wait another week" updates.

 

yeah i was thinking that if they get from ak to ky overnight and clear customs there tomorrow morning they should be out for delivery by the end of the day tomorrow. I wouldn't worry about them coming after thursday that is unlikely unless something goes really wrong

 

I'm not sure but whatever place is faster I hope it goes through there lol. I'm so ready for my computer haha.

 

Finally departed out of Kentucky. Says it will be delivered later today.

 

Lucky! Mine is still in Alaska. Last I checked it has not been updated or anything and the last scan was the Alaska arrival scan and there is no set time of delivery yet.

 

wow mine still hasnt updated since yesterday, i guess urs really did just ship faster. but odd that yours didnt stop in Alaska before ky. Idk i just dont understand lenovo shipping.

 

Same here. I hope it's actually left Alaska and just hasn't updated. Otherwise we aren't getting them tomorrow like originally declared by UPS.

 

It only took a couple hours for it to ship from customs to my city, so you might actually get your computers tomorrow, if not, I'm sure Friday at the latest.

 

That is pretty quick from Kentucky to Washington!

Still, nothing has changed here.

Sweeet! Got mine a few hours ago. Everything seems to be working great!

Mine is working awesomely lol. Sorry been caught up in it and haven't been on. The only problem is the cooling system so far. Have to take a break every so often to let it cool. But other then that I love this laptop haha. Hope you guys are just as happy. Oh and I received mine march 19th at 350 PM Pacific time.

 

Same here, I've been so caught up in it. Make sure you don't block the vent on the bottom left side. As long as you have it off of your leg or put something under it like a book when playing (if you don't have a cooling pad) it works great. So far I've played around 10 games on it and have had no problems with temps or fps. HAWKEN, TF2, L4D2, Saints Row: The Third, and a few others are all playing at 60fps or above (SR3 is around 45ish fps maxed out) Highest temps I've seen was on the CPU and that was around 84C and the GPU at around 77C. Battery life is also crazy on this. Getting anywhere from 7 - 12 hours on the "Balanced" setting for web browsing, downloading games, and doing school work. I would recommend that if you are wanting to game, plug in your laptop, and take out your battery so you don't constantly charge and discharge it and only use the battery when you need it.

I think this laptop was worth the wait though.

 

I loving this laptop as well, I can play Assassin's Creed 4 with high setting no problem. I had a issue the first day I got it, I was trying to update the wifi card and for some reason I got a blue screen and everytime I started my laptop, windows started to a black screen. I had to reinstall windows 8 and I think the problem was the buggy wifi driver.

My only issue with this laptop is the touchpad, it is so bad lol. It's not glitchy I just hate that the buttons are made inside of it. I literally had to run to the store the day after I got this laptop to buy a new mouse.

No problems with the wifi card that I was hearing about, it is better than the wifi on my hp pavilion.

 

Yeah I've been taking a break with my i5/GTX 770 build and just relaxing and gaming on this and I've had no problems. Bioshock: Infinite is running max everything with Normal post-processing and is getting 55-70fps. I love it

I haven't had really any problems at all with the drivers, wifi has been working great. Only stopped working once but that's because the wifi in my friends house actually went down. And yeah, the touchpad does suck really bad, I use it very little. I'm just using a little Logitech mouse all the time haha
