Ok so I purchased a lenovo y410p on Feb 26, and on March 10 I finally got a email for shipping confirmation with a tracking number. I tried to use the tracking number but it didn't work. The next day March 11 I tried the tracking number and it says the order processing ready for UPS message. Now today is the 14th and I still haven't been able to track the shipment. I contacted lenovo and they said that it definitely shipped and would have to go through customs I guess. Then I contacted UPS and they gave me the generic explanation of what the Order processing message means no help at all. I am so confused as to what is going on with the shipping because I can't track it at all and UPS and lenovo keep giving me different answers. Anyone that has dealt with something like this? I just want to be able to track what is going on so I can know what day to be at home to sign for it.

It usually takes 1-2 days for it to actually ship after you have received the shipping confirmation email. You should call Lenovo and ask them to contact UPS on your behalf. Lenovo is a priority customer for UPS and they have a dedicated team to answer their shipping related questions. I once called Lenovo to get them to get UPS to hold the shipment at the depot and the Lenovo customer rep put me in conference call with UPS and they sorted everything out within minutes.
Wait till Monday and if it still does not ship, contact Lenovo and ask them to contact UPS to figure things out. -
Also, if you sign up for UPS MY CHOICE, they send you an e-mail, the day before the delivery is scheduled. It's free! :thumbsup:
UPS: Tracking Information
Yes, I know this doesn't help your situation, because UPS does not begin the on-line tracking, until the laptop arrives in country, and clears customs. Still, if you sign up for My Choice, you can adjust the delivery time, and change a few other options. (IIRC you can also authorize your neighbor to sign for your package)
I've been using this service for a few years, as I get meds from my Medicare pharmacy, through UPS. Heck, I rarely "track" anything at the website. I just check my mailbox for the "heads up" from UPS. -
I'm in the same boat as you. Ordered my y410p on Feb 28th lenovo said it shipped March 10th and I'm still waiting for my tracking information to change. I've called lenovo and they continuously lie to me. I got pretty upset once and got 10% off the purchasing price, but we will see if that actually happens. I've been told it's been shipped by a third party and it's in customs, been told it's still waiting for ups, and been told that I need to contact ups. Ups just says lenovo is who I need to talk to because they haven't received the package yet. So ill wait till Monday and see if anything changes. Probably do what anandoc suggested.

I just made this account because all of you are having the EXACT same problem as me. I ordered my Y410p (the $749.99 model) On February 27th. Didn't receive any notification about shipping until March 10th. Then, once I got my tracking code, it did not work out all, it would take me to the UPS page and say "You have to wait" or something like that. I figured maybe they just didn't get around to it. Woke up this morning to an email saying it would be out for delivery from 12:30 - 4:30 so I sat waiting from 12 until now. I thought that FINALLY, I would receive it after waiting almost a whole month for it but I guess not. Upon wasting time, I decided to check the UPS tracking and it said the export shipping time was around 5:10pm in Shanghai or so (it's 3:50 currently in Ohio, so idk the time differences) I'm very aggravated for their "mistake." Never ordering off of their site again.

That does seem odd. Maybe yours is actually with ours or yours arrived ahead of schedule and is just waiting to ship with ours? Wouldn't exactly make sense but I've seen dumber things happen. Not sure why they just don't ship it rather than holding it at the warehouse. Here is what mine currently says:

It's like they are just toying with us and knowing that we are slowly dying inside haha Okay great, I'm guessing sometime within the next 6 hours or so. And then it will probably depart early in the morning from Kentucky and arrive at the local UPS facility later tomorrow. Keep us updated when yours finally leaves!

However, my delivery time is "not available" anymore and now I'm worrying we won't get them by the 20th like I've been hoping on. Alaska to Ohio in a day seems very unlikely to me, as much as I wish it were possible. There isn't even a departure scan yet.
I guess we can only hope. I'll be pissed if it goes passed the set 3/20 date like it was originally supposed to be. Getting tired of the "Here's when it's coming" date and then the "lol ya rite, wait another week" updates. -

Mine is working awesomely lol. Sorry been caught up in it and haven't been on. The only problem is the cooling system so far. Have to take a break every so often to let it cool. But other then that I love this laptop haha. Hope you guys are just as happy. Oh and I received mine march 19th at 350 PM Pacific time.

My only issue with this laptop is the touchpad, it is so bad lol. It's not glitchy I just hate that the buttons are made inside of it. I literally had to run to the store the day after I got this laptop to buy a new mouse.
No problems with the wifi card that I was hearing about, it is better than the wifi on my hp pavilion. -
I haven't had really any problems at all with the drivers, wifi has been working great. Only stopped working once but that's because the wifi in my friends house actually went down. And yeah, the touchpad does suck really bad, I use it very little. I'm just using a little Logitech mouse all the time haha
