I'm from the Netherlands and I am looking to replace my 6 year old IBM X40 (which still runs perfectly I must add) I'm interested in the X120e, E220, E420, X220(X220s?) or T410s.

Living in Europe there are a few problems with the Lenovo brand:

    - Pricing doesn't make sense, X201 sells for $1.029 on the US site, ordering it in the Netherlands will set me back around 1240 euro's which at today's currency rates is a ridiculous $1.747 !!
    - Importing is not an option, shipping is around $80-$100 and I have to pay import tax and VAT( which they conveniently charge on laptop value AND shipping cost)
    - Availability of different models in Europe is limited (X120e and E420 are NOT available in Europe)

Lenovo posted on Facebook " Big day in the land of ThinkPad Edge as the E420s is officially on sale in most countries around the world. (This means you, Germany!)"

I went to the German site straight away, E420 is not there. I asked about that and the Lenovo official answered "the E420s is most certainly going on sale in Germany so fear not" So on sale or "most certainly" on sale?

Which brings me to my question, is there a way to determine which models are sold in which country (other then going to every national Lenovo site) and does Lenovo have a sort of roadmap so I can see which models are going to be sold in which country?

Have you tried emailing your local dealership / site and asking them when they'll be receiving stock?

Be glad it doesn't cost closer to $4000 for a T410 model (stock model) with no working ecoupons in your country ($2.20 for 1 Liter of milk for comparison).

the x201 sells here for the low price of 3500 dollars.

Even if I import, it will be cheaper in my case

My guess would be: São Paulo, Brazil (looking at his signature) :D

Still, that does sound even worse then prices here in Europe. At today's rates I can get a refurbished T400s in Europe for the same amount of money that you lucky U.S. based ThinkPad lovers can order a brand new T420..
