I was in a market for a wireless keyboard and notice that Lenovo doesn't have a Thinkpad style wireless keyboard. What I am looking for is something like this.

I just wanted it to have a real Trackpoint instead of the optical mouse like the one above. Make a 7 row with classic style would be even better. I just don't understand why Lenovo haven't release one yet? Is there even a market for it? I would imagine it will sell very-well among Thinkpad owners.

I'd love a wireless version of my TrackPoint travel keyboard. No chiclet keys, though, please.
-
Actually the chiclet keys are not as bad as one might think, what I am more concern is about the layout.
-
Buy a mechanical Keyboard. Its 10 times better.
-
I don't care if it's a chiclet or not, but we need a backlight for the HPTCs.

Because when they were designing the (now current, then next) generation of ThinkPad external keyboard, they actually ran a survey and solicited comments on what people wanted in the keyboard. I don't remember exactly what the wireless option was in the survey, or how popular the idea was in the feedback, but I do know that in the summary David Hill later posted introducing the keyboard, he stated: "Some interest in a wireless version, but far from unanimous."
There was still more interest, apparently, so David Hill solicited feedback yet again. ( Google cache link, since the blog permalink is borked.) In that post, he stated "The data from our original study didnt indicate enormous interest in this feature, but maybe things have changed. Is the time is right for us reconsider a wireless version?"
I don't remember what the results were, nor do I have a link to a follow-up, but I guess that since there isn't a wireless keyboard now, the answer to that was "No." -
I just want one with a Numpad again. IBM used to sell one but Lenovo doesn't anymore
I honestly cannot use a keyboard without a trackpoint anymore so I have to jury rig a bluetooth numpad with my travel keyboard -
Obviously Lenovo can design a numpad version, a wireless version of each, etc. But Lenovo need to be sure that each version will sell at volume to be profiable, so i guess the wired thinkpad keyboard is the one with the lowest cost and associated risk, and also the highest probability of profit.

Do anyone know a wireless keyboard with a trackpoint? It would be great for HTPC or just web surfing on the big screen.
-
They need to turn it into a bucking spring keyswitch.
-
Why? There's already a company that produces buckling-spring keyboards, and there are plenty of others that offer other mechanical switches.
Good low-profile scissor switch keyboards with a TrackPoint? Now that's a niche, and that's the one that Lenovo's chosen to (profitably) fill.
Lenovo need to release a wireless Thinkpad style keyboard.
