I haven't seen a retail store that sells Lenovo notebooks. Not in Future Shop, Best Buy or CompuSmart.

Is Lenovo like Dell where the only place you can buy their products is online?

CompuSmart in toronto has some lower end models. You can also find some in specialty notebook stores in major cities (over 3 million population) or at large university stores usually in the US (there's only one large university in canada). but generally, you will have to buy online, and if it's no good, return it within 30 days.

I assume you're refering to U of W? Do they actually sell ThinkPads there?

I know for a fact that there are Thinkpads / Lenovo notebooks at my uni. And a quick Google search brings up a U of Sask website that says they have Thinkpads in stock... so which "one large university" are you referring to? =P

Think Staples have Lenovo notebooks too...

    ...albeit they're only lower ends..

Staples. Hmm, and likely a markup also.

obviously then i was mistaken about only one large university carrying thinkpads in ca.

more common in the US tho, where they also offer some great educ discounts even better than the epp.

EPP - Employee Purchase Program (also known as Friends and Family program since they are allowed to share with friends and family, though they are limited to only 25 purchases through EPP per year.

THAT I agree with. The so-called education discounts at school aren't much better than regular retail prices. =/
