I have a newly bought a Legion Y540 from Lenovo's homepage with the standard 2 years warranty and I'm thinking about upgrading it to 3 year onsite warranty for 53 USD.

What do you guys think is it worth it?

I say by year three, you'll be looking at new machines. I usually buy electronics with my Citibank card as it extends the warranty by two years.

I signed up for the 3 year onsite warranty, I think it was quite cheap. If I don't have to send the laptop away for repair one time, then it's worth it.
