    I ordered a Lenovo Ideapad y560p (43972CU) on March 18th.

IdeaPad Y560p Laptop 43972CU Black with 1.3MP Camera and 750GB64GB Rapid Drive PROCESSOR Intel Core i72630QM Processor 2.00GHz 1333MHz 6MB DISPLAY 15.6" HD Glare with integrated camera 1366x768 GRAPHICS AMD Radeon HD 6570M 1GB MEMORY 8 GB PC38500 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz HARD DRIVE 814GB OPTICAL DEVICE Bluray/DVD Combo

The ship date provided was April 1st. By the end of the weekend it changed to April 5th. Two days before shipping (the 3rd), it was delayed again to the 13th. Then on the 10th it was pushed to the 26th. Once again, last minute, it was pushed this morning to the 2nd of May, a full month after the original ship date.

I am annoyed that the delay sets so close to the ship date, and that the only way that I know the delay has occurred is by checking the order status religiously. I called Lenovo after the delay to the 13th to check on their confidence on that ship date since it had already been delayed almost 2 weeks from the original one. I was told that it had already been assigned to a warehouse so it would likely ship before the estimated date. Needless to say, he was a bit off. Once the two week shift to the 26th was registered, and still no word from Lenovo, I got a bit peeved and called CS again. This time for some resolution measures. The rep reiterated the ship date to me, and said he would "put in a request to expedite my order" and request a refund off of my purchase price. The refund had to be approved by a manager, so I would have to wait 2 days for an email with the amount. I waited 9 before contacting them again. Assured once again that the ship date remained on the 26th by the employee, I was told that the refunded amount would be $100. However, I have to call CS again AFTER receiving my laptop and with it their return policy with restocking fees included. Today, one day before shipping, I am again delighted to see it has been deferred yet another week.

I am getting very frustrated at all of these last-minute incremental delays without any notification from Lenovo. Honestly, the refund is nice, and helps to quell my annoyance, but not having to call again to get it. I would have simply been satisfied with an automated email notifying me of the delay, or even just a possibility of delay. So far I'm not impressed with Lenovo's CS.

I suspect that the culpret is the SSD with all the turmoil in Japan. I don't know where all of the MSATA SSDs are being manufactured, but I know a lot of tech companies have been hit hard by the devastation. Also, all of Lenovo's factories and warehouses are outside of Japan.

Does anyone else have an order that is being delayed continuously? What is your model?

My ORIGINAL order was for the same thing (y460p, actually), and found that the SSD was on short order from Japan.

Long story short - I was told it might ship. Some day.

Cancelled the order, got more money, ordered a W520, and am still waiting for that.

    Strange, the Cancel() function worked for you? I thought it was determined to be overloaded to Expedite();

Wow... sheer irony. I just got an email that it shipped and tracking info will be available in the next 24 hours. The status page still says 'in process' with a ship date of May second.

    LOL. This made my day.

Weird, it works for my order which was placed with Lenovos website. Are you sure you filled both fields correctly?

Yep, triple checked it straight from my order confirmation email. I'm guessing it may be in order status limbo.

You should have received an email confirming your order. That contains a direct link to your order status page, use that.

I'm probably getting the same delay as my Lenovo's flight was delayed "because of mechanical reasons." Original delivery date was this Thursday, the 28th.

I don't mind the delay though. I have finals until May 10th. One less distraction for me. Don't need the Thinkpad right now, so there's no anxiety or urgency.

    I tried this...

Its saying that my e420s has shipped!

The odd thing is... it said my 1yr onsite warranty was cancelled and 14" thinkpad sleeve will be shipped on May 10th (which was my original ship date).

I also got an email today saying that part/all of my order has shipped.

The warranty thing is a bit odd. Will have to see if they charge me for it.

    Crazy is as crazy does...

I ordered a W520 on 4/8, est delivery 4/18 (missed) changed to 5/10, 5/15, 5/16 and climbing. Mulled canceling, then canceled over e-mail.

Got an RMA UPS for my Ultrabay HDD Sled, and checked the status of my order.

... it went from "Call us, there's a problem 1-866-you-l0se" to "Shipping 4/30"

    Ugh.

I even went and placed an order with the VIP code for a much better machine at the same price, 5/10 delivery.

    What a Cluckerf00k.

Just to let you know that I have order my Y560P 4397-2CU on March 15, and I had the same delivery problem.
My machine got ship last night and I now have my UPS tracking number.
Should be home by Friday April 29 PM.
    ...cross my fingers...
