I purchased a new UltraBay Slim battery II on eBay for my T400 a couple of months ago, and it's now showing 25% degradation (it only holds 22Wh instead of 29Wh).

Fortunately the reseller I purchased from (RRR Enterprise) was on the IBM/Lenovo authorized resellers list.

I was able to contact Lenovo and get a replacement battery sent out.

I know that a lot of people have experienced problems with quick capacity loss on the UltraBay battery. Even if you don't think it's covered, it doesn't hurt to call in and ask - you might just get a replacement battery.

i don't think getting replacements was ever the problem
lenovo has shown pretty willing to give replacements
the big problem with the ultrabay battery issue is that you have to get a new replacement very few months
what a hassle! why can't they just fix the stupid problem? it would be sooooo easy
