I told Lenovo that if they did'nt fix my computer. I would share this info with as many people as possable, they did'nt care.
I purchased the 3000 200 series laptop in January 2007, last week I lifted the screen using the one button release on the right side. The flex from the piece of chinese crap (Lenovo is made in china) cracked the screen @ the right hinge. Lenovo will repair it for $750.00. I paid $599 for the computer from Staples. Lenovo customer support is as useless as the laptop. If for some reason you are dumb enough to buy one, make sure you purchase the warranty. Ant questions,or if you have the same problem, my phone # 484-680-0171. I would love to start up a class action law suit. Im typing this on a Dell Latitude CPi from 1998. The screen is just fine!

i am sorry that happened to you, and i love your profile name
as for a lawsuit, if you start one, what makes you any better then them? plus the attorneys fee would be way more than 750 dollars. But if you want do it -
If you want a Lenovo notebook you should have gone with a Thinkpad. Better built.
-
I think he's more upset with the service rather than the computer.
-
Sorry to hear it. Do you mean the display itself cracked? Or the bezel surround at the hinge? It's completely unusable? Well, I've even had a display go out on me with a thinkpad (plastic lid no roll cage), but I'd been pretty rough with it. -

First post ever? Willingness to post a phone number?
I smell a troll. -

I thought benelli made shotguns.
Maybe I'm thinking of a different benelli. -
Benelli does make shotguns (ie. the famous Benelli M1).

Didn't the lenovo come with a warranty?
-
As for the OP's misfortune... Did you purchase a coverage plan at Staples when you bought the laptop? If you didn't, then I believe Lenovo's 1 year warranty is what will cover you. Did you not try and get them to replace the broken component as part a possible quality flaw and not your human error? Unless you outright admitted to them that you dropped it, broke it, or was negligent to the laptop, I find it your claim rather dubious that they would simply 'do nothing' except quote you a repair price out of thin air. (How did they come to that price? Did an on-site technician evaluate the damage and quote that price?)
And I really can't believe there are people out there who actually buy laptops w/o warranties. Either from the retailer or direct. Doesn't matter what brand of laptop you buy, you're just asking for trouble w/o one. -
maybe he's just sad his T61P got pushed to 10/30 =)
But anyway, if your Lenovo died, you should have had at least a 1 year warranty from the factory, so that makes no sense to me. -
Of course, this could just be a troll that made everything up. -
YOU = TROLL = DISGRACE TO THE PEOPLE OF LEHIGH VALLEY
-
Yeah, but I'm somehow less annoyed with this than someone doing it for fun- what I traditionally consider trolling- like just to get a reaction out of people, generally no basis in reality.
Like I believe this guy might have actually had an n200, and I think about how I'd feel if I paid $599 for it, then I'm told it will cost $750 to fix. That's a pretty huge burn. He's just venting, but going about it the wrong way. Just how I look at it, but ultimately I can't argue with the position that anyone with a "lenovo sucks" user name is anything other than a troll.
 -
So you broke the screen and you're *****ing because someone else won't pay to fix it? Right.......
Something tells me the OP won't post here again. TROLL -
