I'm strongly considering buying a Y580, but after looking a bit, I've seen a lot of negative reviews of their service. However, I know that positive experiences often go unrelayed on the internet. If you've had to have your laptop serviced by Lenovo, how was your experience? Positive, negative or mixed?

People are far more likely to complain about poor service than good service. That being said, it's hit or miss and there is almost no way to predict on how your experience will go. I've had prompt and excellent service and I've had about the worst service a company can give from Lenovo.

I buy desktops at work from Lenovo and have had great service from them every time I've had problems. However, the service for businesses may be different than the kind given out to consumers.

I think if you are in the U.S. you're in better shape. A good number of the complaints come from people in other countries.

Personally, I've had a good experience with Lenovo's customer service. Although I would've preferred not to ever have to deal with them (as in, I wish my computer didn't break in the first place).

I had to use Lenovo service about a year and a half ago. I told them my computer was broken, sent it back, waited about a week, and they fixed it. Your experience may vary, of course.
