Is Lenovo's site dead slow for everyone? Taking like 5 minutes to load each page for me....
This seems to happen a LOT lately. Some days I just give up.
Other places (like here) run fast, so I don't think it's my comp.
-
-
Runs like any normal web page for me here in Davis, CA.
-
I rarely have problems.
-
Lenovo's site is horrible for me, too. Almost every day I either get stuck in an error page loop, session-expired loop, go through cookie hell, or get sent to some random page I never wanted. Yesterday all the links (and I mean all) from my account/order page sent me to the Lenovo Corporate home page.
-
It's fast again now for me.
But problems with their site are known issues. The day I went to order my machine (16th of july) none of the sales people could get in either. I spoke with two different reps. Same thing. They said they'd call back. One did...two days later.
I guess that's what you get when dealing with China.
Sure hope the 61p is worth the trouble and the wait (been waiting for it since May and it's not to be shipped until Mid Aug. It better rock! -
-
I've been in China, worked in China, dealt with Chinese suppliers, businessmen, suppliers and so on. Know exactly just how bad it is. No prejudice, just reality. -
Shame I had to waste my 1000th post on this nonsense. -
Sigh, why is it the guy who has no life and thinks sitting behind a computer and making a thousand posts makes him an expert and really doesn't know diddly squat.

Lookie like chinee to meeemaybe another thousand posts will teach you how to do a basic whois search
-
I wouldn't bet on it.
It's all about the bucks.
Chinese programmer = $80/month
American programmer = $40+/hour
Now which do you think a Chinese company will hire?
You also have to understand the mentality of the Chinese. The brits abused them and took advantage of them, later so did the Americans. They HATE us over there (and thanks to GW most of the rest of the world too, but the Chinee have hated us long before GW came on the scene.)
There's just no way that a Chinese company (and remember, all Chinese companies are Govt) would support American workers if they didn't absolutely have to.
With the world being 'on the net' the server could be anywhere and still get managed from some third world location by $1/day workers.
Also, if you watch the Lenovo site closely you'll see grammar and spelling errors that are very typical non-native speaker mistakes that I personally have seen countless times when dealing with the Chinese. -
LMAO. WHOIS only tells you who the owner of the domain is. NOT where the actual servers or people actually managing the website are located.
How embarassing for you.
By the way, Lenovo's American operations (sales support included) are located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Tell me how people from China can commute to North Carolina every day. -
you're the man! able to pull off all the info all by yourself! maybe someone with 19 posts is really the expert. well someone gives this monkey a banana please?
-
The whois doesn't really say much. Just because the registration says Beijing China doesn't mean their sales support and website are based in China. They probably have sales support in the US and in China.
-
Lenovo.com is hosted in Connecticut and Lenovo.cn is hosted in Beijing, China.
-
"Hey y'all I just went to them store o'er there and they said, "I ain't selling y'all no Lenovos 'cuz they're made by them Chinamen."
Stop embarassing yourself, MonsterMaxx.
