I Placed order for y730 model 40523GU on December 27,2008. Initial ship date of 1/6/2009 was provided. 1/6/2009 came and passed, ship date was changed to 1/14/209. I decided I would write an email to find out when the ship date would most likely be and never received a response. Again 1/14/2009 came and passed date was once again changed to 1/22/2009. Again 1/22/2009 came and passed. Date was once again changed to 1/31/2009. so I decided to call and find out what was causing such a long delay. I was told that there was an huge demand for the particular model I had ordered and it would most likely ship out the week of around 1/31/2009. On 1/26/2009 I looked online to check the status of my order, which had again been changed to 2/5/2008. Finally totally frustrated I called lenovo and cancelled my order. I don't know how lenovo stays in business. I know they offer some of the best systems for the price but their attitude towards customer satisfaction sucks. This is just a warning towards all perspective lenovo customers. If you expect to receive you laptop in under 6 weeks you will most likely be disappointed.

sorry to hear about your problem, i see you posted this in the Lenovo subforums (probably where it should belong) too so you must be frustrated
and to be honest I didnt even know the y series was that popular, thats interesting or Lenovo was just screwing with you -
I have moved another post in here. Cross posting is against the forum rules.

i first placed an order 1/16, estimated to ship 1/28. I called 1/22 just to check up as the status was unchanged.
the first rep I spoke to said it was being held up due to a missing part, but to call back in 1 week and check the status then. I didn't believe her so I called back again, got a different rep. He said something completely different- that it was hanging in processing and he didn't know why, but their 'highest executive team' was working on it. I also thought that was bogus.
I contacted an admin at the Lenovo forums and he checked into my order. Somehow there was an error somewhere in the backend (there didn't seem to be an error in their ability to hold the amount on my card). A Lenovo rep contacted me via email saying that he cancelled the original order and replaced it, with his apologies.
My order is now estimated to ship 2/3. The hold on my card keeps changing so I have no idea what to think. It's pretty frustrating and I am contemplating on cancelling it (myself this time).
Lenovo slow to ship
