Lenovo stopped manufacturing computers until the 8th of October. I’ve been told from Lenovo Canada, to Celebrate 60 years of communism. Some delays are to be expected in deliveries.

Well, if it is a National Holiday then it makes sense. Most countries do this.

And that is lenovo's own business decision. Hopefully lenovo was socking away supply for a couple weeks before a production break.

The whole week is a big Chinese holiday, I think it is called Golden Week or something like that.

Lenovo wouldn't be the only one shut down, many companies run out of China have it as a holiday. It may be more than "many", as I'm sure it is encouraged by the government.

    EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Week_(China)

Yeah, the Asia Pacific office of my company is pretty much closed. It's in Hong Kong.

There are really 2 Chinese holidays, the Autumn Moon Festival and the National Holiday, so all businesses in China are closed for a week.

Very festive :D The other day I went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch, was puzzled to see it closed, then remembered the date, Oct. 1, not very happy 'cause I really wanted to get my lunch there that day, but it was fresh feeling--all holidays are good things (Would be better if they offer discount or free lunch on the holiday :D )
