    Hello,

I ordered a brand new ideapad laptop from Lenovo website recently. And as someone who has ordered multiple laptops from Lenovo I noticed an anomaly with this order. In my previous orders, they were released to manufacturing after the orders were received and after 5-6 days of being in the manufacturing phase, the laptops were shipped from China. But this time after few days I placed my order, my laptop was released to manufacturing for about 5 hours and then shipped on the same day from North Carolina. Am I receiving a refurb unit? Can someone explain what's going on here?

    Thank you.

depends what model you purchased, from my understanding some X series were built in NC, another question is, was this a custom order?

This was not a custom order. I bought a pre-configured ideapad flex 2.

then it would be assumption that it was in inventory over there, often companies now analyze sale trends and try to stock goods in locations where they think sales will happen in the future to reduce shipping time/costs, they will also go as far as pre-configure units based on trends what configurations are ordere and stock those as well, it is my assumption and maybe someone else can chime in, been out of the loop lately

Could be. I was a bit concerned because my order status was "order received" for 12 days before it suddenly went in to manufacturing for 5 hours.
