    Hi, I'm looking into buying a notebook and would love to get a Lenovo, but my budget is tight.
    Is there any Lenovo for around 1000 Euro, that has decent specs?

    What am I looking for? --> http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=89492
    Most important: dedicated nVidia graphics card (wanna run Linux, so ATI is not an option), decent processor, good battery life

    I'm living in Belgium, Europe, so it should be a model that is available over here.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I would love to get a Lenovo, but haven't found one that has specs that come near to what I'm looking for.

    I think not.it's 2 years since ATI started giving out ATI drivers officially.My brother got the W3J with an X1600 to work even with the XGL (ripple,rain,etc...)

    Thanks for that tip mujtaba, I'm gonna check a bit if your brother just was lucky or ATI realy doesn't pose a problem anymore.

    I've been looking into Lenovo's within my budget and I've come up with a few possibilities. Any remarks on these models or suggestions on what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

    I would love to get a Thinkpad, but the only ones within my budget have specs that are less then what I was looking for:

    Some model out of the Lenovo 3000 series, but apperently those aren't that good quality. According to http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=1676576&postcount=3) the C100 has a crapy screen. If that's only a problem in the C100 models and ATI isn't a problem, a N100 could also be a possibility:

    Apparently that's only the most recent set of ATI's and since the laptops I've been looking into, don't have these cards, it would still be a drawback.
    But I guess even a not completely supported dedicated ATI card would still be better then an Intel GMA950.

    Thinkpads don't use nVidia, so it would have ot be ATI. Do you have a friend in the US who travels to Belgium frequently? Here for about 1050 euro you can get a T60 with a T5500 cpu, 60gb 7200rpm hard drive, x1400 video, and 1gb ram.

    No, don't know anyone who travels to US.

    Then it will have to be a ThinkPad R60e 0657, but max screen resolution of 1024 x 768 and only 2.5 hours battery don't really sound so interesting.

    Or a ThinkPad Z60m 2529, but that only has a Pentium M and has an ATI card, which isn't good for me. Battery life and screen resolution are nice.

    Or otherwise not a Thinkpad, but a 3000 N100 0768. Anyone here used one of those? Is it any good?
