Which lenovo model has these features (or comes close to it):
    At least a 1440x900 res
    6+ hours battery life
    15.4" screen
    Has a trackpoint
    Less than 5lbs
Must be a Core 2 duo
    LED screen

This will be used for typing up equations using a typeset editor so the keyboard has to be durable and comfortable to use. I never used a trackpoint before but I think I prefer it better than a trackpad.

Resolutions is also important, I just don't know how people can work with a 1280x800 resolution. The current tablet I have is 12.1" and 1280x800 and it's impossible to read any documents because of the amount of scrolling required. I also have to adjust the DPI on it because the text is too small to read. I know most of the Lenovo's have 14" screens, I don't know if that's sufficient or 15.4" is required (dpi wise).

The biggest factor is heat and noise. I currently use a TX2510 in tablet mode and it gets extremely hot. It's about 75-76F ambient temperature. I read some of the reviews of the current thinkpads and some customers said it overheated etc.

Also, does lenovo have an accidental damage warranty?

The T400s is probably the closest, but it's a 14" notebook.

There aren't any Thinkpads that are 15" and less than 5 lbs.

The MBP is 5.5 lbs and the Envy 15 is 5.2 lbs. The only ones less than that use the CULV CPUs. For your usages, you don't need a powerful CPU. At 5 lbs, the Acer 5810T meets more of your requirements than any Lenovo.

true, I believe the few that are are CULV only. Not full voltage Core 2 Duo.

The OP did say "must be Core 2 Duo" and technically, the CULV SU7xxx and SU9xxx ones are Core 2 Duo...

true. OP still needs to adjust his expectations if he wants a Thinkpad.
