Hi all,
I have a Lenovo c200 notebook, I have the recovery disks sent from IBM and I cannot recover it.
We own 5 computers in this household, and I have rebuilt to factory condition many times the other computers.
This one
1. disk 4 of recovery was acting funny, said it didn't finish, I did get to the end of installation
2. the recovery process told me the computer was not recovered
3. I tried three times today, and it does the same thing again and again.
Any pointers? I had the hard drive checked at Best Buy, it's intact so that is not it.
Is it normal to have such trouble installing XP professional on a lap top? (I have only recovered XP regular before, and Windows 98 and 95 and such, but this one has me pulling my hairs out.)
Thanks Lene

Is the disc dirty or scratched?

God, for a second I thought you were saying Lenovo (the company) wouldn't recover.

LOL!! It's because of the economy!!
Sorry, bad way to express my problem.
I found out last night that what IBM had sent me was XP Home edition, and what I had before was XP Professional.
So the OS installed but I had no sound. Would that be because it was the wrong edition or do I have another problem, like should I ask for them to send me the XP professional disks.

Yes, I would ask for what you paid for.
Lenovo won't recover
