My Intel 6205 WLAN card died the other day. I lost connectivity, and when I rebooted was presented with an 1802 Error code stating that the component was not an authorised/recognised component and needed removing. Alarmingly this would not let me access BIOS to disable the component.

I opened up the laptop, reseated the card and tried agin. No luck. I removed the card, and rang Lenovo tech support in the UK the following morning. After taking various personal details, they were quick and efficient (probably helped by the fact I had a clearly diagnosed problem), and sent me out a replacement card. It arrived at 7.45am the next day, and my laptop is fixed.

I'm not too worried about a new laptop experiencing this problem. Sometimes components just stop working. I will be if I have another issue in the next year.

Really just wanted to say that their warranty/tech support was a good experience, and actually well worth having - don't see these experiences posted much on forums.
