Greetings. I've been carefully looking at the y410p for quite some time and I might consider buying it within the next couple months. Now, my question is, does anyone have any complaints about it and what are the cons I should be aware of in the event that I purchase it?

Also, because this laptop has been out for about 5 months (I think), will it be replaced soon with a newer version/model and should I wait for it?

    Thanks in advance.

This thread will keep you up to date with everything.

Some things that are common problems
    1) Wifi sucks (except they fixed that with a driver update and the card has since been updated in some versions.)
    2) Overheating - the solution for this is undervolting or repasting, which can be found in that thread
    3) Can't SLI (yet - no one knows for sure yet but if you are looking for sli performance better look at the y510p)
    4) Screen is only 1600x900 and it's a pretty decent panel, don't go for the 768 panel as it's quite bad from everything I've heard
    5) Some laptops have come and they've been busted up, screens not working, plastic unhinged etc, usually can just send it back (But just not that great build quality in general, though it will last you fine if you're careful)

The biggest thing about the y410p is that it offers perhaps the best performance in this price range, and it comes with a very decent graphics card, a decent screen, and a very good processor.
You can only get so much for around 800 dollars, and the y410p offers alot.

If you don't need a laptop for 5 months then just wait for 5 months, if you need one now get it now.

Basically what the person above said + the newer models come with larger batteries than before, so they last longer on the battery.
