Hi to all. I recently bought a Lenovo IdeaPad Y450 - 41896AU. It has the 4500mhd video card and i noticed the more expensive model carries the nvidia gt 240m video card... I was wondering if i can buy that video card and replace mine with it. What do you guys think?

Would it just be plug and play?

    Thanks in Advance

You cannot upgrade the video card.

You can't replace just the GPU as it's soldered to the board. You'd probably have to do the board and maybe the fan/heatsink too if it's possible at all. Along the way you'd be voiding your warranty as well. Your best option would be to sell what you've got now and buy the one one you want. Good Luck.

Even if you could, it would not be price-effective. You'd waste more money upgrading than buying a new one and selling your current one.

It will be better to buy another laptop, this time with a better GPU, as is not possible to upgrade from 4500MHD, because it´s soldered.
