I will be buying the lenovo y500 with the 750m SINGLE graphics card. However, I may buy the extra 750m card for the SLI option separately down the road. If I do this, will any lenovo 170w charger work or does it have to be the specific lenovo y500 charger? I only ask because currently the charger has a 4 week shipping time. Would one from the W520 series work?

Y500 and y400 are getting updated next month with haswell models y410p and y510p. They will have haswell I7-4700MQ and a 24 gig msata and Basicly look the same. But I believe y410 will have a sli model. Also both will have gt750m.

Seems pretty reliable have a user manuel and specs but error could have been made in translation :-/. So it is what it is. I'm waiting next month to make my purchase. But it looks the same. I am not 100 percent sure it will be out in june but if you call sales they are aware of the model.

Need a diff model # that one exists already, wouldn't doubt a new model will be out sooner than later. Can't see them doin a whole new system without a new gpu, just seems to be lenovo's trend eg y470->y470p->480->y400, 550m->7670m->640m->650m/750m, etc
I would like to see a lenovo go with a new intel and a hd 7870 or copy the MSI GX60 and go with an A10 processor and 7970, since that combo proves to have excellent performance and easy on the wallet.

Seems to be the right model # they just added a p at the end. It you go to the lenovo web site and search through the questions when asked about haswell a rep says the update will be called Y510P in america.

have a reliable source for this info since the model # you described is already an outdated product they made a few years ago.

Yes I know. Have no clue they sell products in multiply countries so I guess its just recycled. Go to the web site and search through the questions two Reps mention Y510P when asked about the hasewell model. This is from my own research.

I'll take it for what it is till it surfaces, but it bad enough their model numbers are regressing, next step from the y580 should have been y580p, 590 and so on..

To answer your questions, if you have the Lenovo 170W ac adapter that works. Unless you run heavy overclock on the GPU, and unthrottled the CPU, the ac adapter won't have problem. The stock Lenovo ac adapter is 20V. I got a 240W Dell slim ac adapter that is 19.5V, and it works fine. I assume that 19V adapter works too, but I can't guarantee it. The Sager/Clevo 180W ac adapter should work fine too.

If you're buying a laptop now, you should wait till Haswell is released.

Price-wise, updates usually stays the same, meaning price does not increase with a similar but updated CPU and GPU, ie: Ivy bridge to haswell, GT 6xx to GT 7xx
