hello, im concerned about Y500 (750m) temps..
they are idling at 55C and go to 80C when playing games..

    Refer to this picture

i know i can consider 80C safe but why are they so high? i just bought the laptop and was playing hitman absolution for just 1 hour

What's the usual idle temp, 44? I'm seeing mixed reviews regarding temp. I wonder how much of a difference a cooling pad and thermal paste would make..I read 750m conducts more heat than the 650m Y500 due to use of higher voltage but I don't know since others are able to maintain the heat situation. Maybe room temperature.

As I have said on previous threads, this laptop runs very well and the temperatures do not get high, if you use it how you're supposed to. Elevate the laptop so cold air can pour in through the bottom and do not block the ventilation! I'd suggest buying a cooling pad, just check best buy.
