Anyone know what size the HDD is in the caddy? Because if that's the price without a HDD that is absolutely ridiculous. Other ultrabay hdd caddies only cost $40 or so without a HDD.

Does this mean Y400 can SLI too? It's just too bad the screen is only HD. That GPU power is such a waste on 1366x768.

I got the Y400 fan today, it's low rpm, and blows cold air on my mouse hand, so...
I gut it and use it as a filler blank.

    A) blowing cold air means it wasn't helping with heat dissipation, my temps were 70C with or without fan
    B) the fan grill is nice, and makes a really nice blank, allowing air to feed to the left side gpu/cpu fan, I had it empty before (dvd waste of weight) and it stays 70C gaming

The 2nd GPU is appealing, but $230 is too much, you can buy a desktop 650 2GB for $130, so I'd pay $150...

I really like the fit and finish of the Y400, its nicely put together.
I do wish Y400 had a screen upgrade option, the 1366x768 suffers from bad viewing angles and often looks washed out.
If you've used a good 1080P panel before, it's noticeable... but ya gotta love the 14" size...

Isn't SLI on a 1366x768 screen pretty much pointless? You'd be much better off just overclocking a single GPU. Obviously if you use an external monitor that's different, though. Also I wouldn't compare desktop and laptop GPU prices directly since their markets are entirely different. There is always a huge cost increase for mobile components.

Maybe I will try to put up a review or something on the lines. I heard that it can be hard to remove the DVD drive from the ultrabay. Also need to try to figure out that Windows 8 and mSATA deal. I bought the Y400 which should also be arriving tomorrow!

    Its not hard.

There is just an lock and a switch.

The lock is behind the battery and switch is just under the laptop.

Hi, I am debating buying the same HDD bay, does it come with a HDD? 189.99 seems steep for just the bay. Also, where did you buy it?

Thank you so much, please let me know!
