    hello good day.

    i obtained a legion y520.

after looking around i noticed that there "is" a posibility to upgrade the build in 1920x1080 60 hz screen with a 120 hz screen.

    now i am wondering.

what else can i upgrade to?

    i am interested in either

    1
upgrade to atleast a higher brightness/quality screen.

    2

a higher resolution screen. somewhere in the range of 1440p/4k.

i know i wont be gaming at 4k. but i can use the extra room for non gaming activities.

    or

    3

    indeed a 120 hz screen.

which panels would be supported for my model?

i ran monitor asset manager so i can get the the current screens info.

Very unlikely or even impossible to upgrade to any UHD/QHD screen with the 2 lane 30 pins connector that is currently in your system with that type of signal interface. Obtain the 40 pin cable made for that model with the upgraded screen option is your best chance...

    sorry for the late response.

anyhow. after using the laptop more. i've to be honest noted that the resolution is fine enough for what it is.

the real problem seems to be the lack of colors and or brightness. in some games/situations it's too dark to spot things when the surrounding place is night time or dark.

are there any panels that would fit on this device that either have better dark colors and or brighter nits? not 100% sure what this screen is. iirc i read 250cds?

i tried looking around but i can only find people upgrading to the 120hz screen.

you got any sources that would show if there is a way to get a brighter or just a better panel for this machine? the brightness/colors are actually hindering even normal usage of the machine sometimes
