    Lenovo y580 HORRIBLE WIFI

    I dont understand why the internet connection on the y580 is SO SO SO SO BAD, IT JUST CONSTANTLY LAGS AND DCS AND LAG SPIKES

    I even went to go check the other laptops wifi in the house and the wifi on those laptops are perfectly fine.

    This is just so frustrating, does anyone know how to fix this crap wifi

    Have you tried uninstalling McAfee? A lot of people say that that fixes the wifi problem.

    This wifi is just the worst, even my crap laptop had better wifi

    some intel 2200 or something.

    ive updated the driver for it and it kind of helped, but it still dcs a bit

    Are you sure this is the intel centrino wireless card because those are great. You probably have a Broadcom card or Atheros.

    people say it is not because the wifi card but the antenna.

    You should try setting your router to broadcast on a different Wifi channel, you could be getting interference from other routers such as from your neighbors. If you happen to have an Android smartphone, get the app WiFi Analyzer. That will show all the signals that are being broadcast and will recommend which channel should have the least interference. It helped my when I had a similar problem with my laptop with a lot of dropped connections. Now it works a lot better.

    Signal interference is the biggest problem with WiFi connections, not necessarily the hardware itself.
