Are the computers listed there refurbished or are they new?

they're new items that they are trying to get rid of. if the items were refurbed they would label them as refurbished.

Cool. There's a T60 in there right now that looks like a nice deal, except I kinda want the 570M in the T61p

yeah i saw it. it is tempting in deed, but we are talking about a 800 dollar savings. you can get the T60, and then snag yourself a pretty decent desktop pc with that 800 with a monster of a vid card :D

Well having a portable workstation (I'm going into Engineering) would be really nice. Plus, a T61p will probably last me atleast 4 years, whereas that T60 may not.

the T60 will definitely make it 4 years if you are using it for casual use. I am a biomedical engineer and i used an amd athlon 1.33ghz system for my 4 yrs which was not too long ago(graduated in 05). Ran IDEAS, autocad, magicad electrical and LabView just fine.

I understand where you are coming from though, and I agree, the T61p is definitely a bit more "future proof" than the T60.

If I were in your shoes, assuming budget isn't too much of a problem, I would go for the T61p

I think thats what I'm going to do. Except, Lenovo now offers a 15.4" with the 140m.

Why can't they just offer the T61p with WSXGA+?!
