I'm from Canada (and french haha) and never bought from Lenovo. I've heard a bunch of nice things about Dell's business laptop's warranty. How's Lenovo's one? Which one should I get with a thinkpad (If I buy one over a dell latitude)? Are the a couple of things I should know about their warranty.

    Thank you

I don't have experience since Lenovo took over, but my experience with IBM was excellent.

I bought a used lease return Thinkpad T23 in the middle of 2004 and it had something like 7 months of the original 3 year warranty remaining. The hard drive failed within about 2 weeks of me receiving the laptop.

I was in southern California and called around 2pm Pacific time to report the issue. IBM sent out a new hard drive for me that arrived 9am the next morning. Now according to the return label and the tracking info, the package came from somewhere near the east coast, I forget the exact location, where it would have been at least 5pm. I was completely surprised how fast they were able to get the replacement out to me because it was late in the day in that region.

Their system reported that my T23 had a 20GB HDD but I had a 30GB HDD but they sent out a 30GB HDD for me anyway.

Dell Small Business has been excellent too. I just received my refurbed Latitude and it was missing the OS disc and I wanted to install 64bit Vista. I sent an email around 9pm local time and received a reply 6am local time that the disc was being sent to me overnight to arrive Monday 1/26. I sent an inquiry about the disc around 620am and received a call about the issue at 645 regarding the issue. The guy did sound Indian, though I didn't question his whereabouts, but I was satisfied with their response also.

Dell home I don't have experience with though.
