I ordered the y510p on June 18th. Everything was going pretty normally at first, and the estimated ship/arrival times changed quite frequently, which I was okay with because I knew the item is popular in demand. However, much to my surprise, when I saw that instead of shipping out yesterday(July the 1st) the laptop has now been pushed back an entire two weeks... So that is an estimated ship date of July the 15th and arrival of July the 19th. To those doing the math, that is roughly one month of waiting. Is this normal for lenovo or to anyone else waiting for this item? I think it's unacceptable that they give me a ship date of 7 business days, while in reality 20 business day is their "estimated" ship date.

Sorry for the rant, just wish that they would be more up front and this is probably the last time I order from Lenovo, at least for items that haven't been made yet, I should probably order them off something like NewEgg or sites like that.

P.S. if anyone is on the same boat as me, tell me your story, I too would like to see how they're doing in building these laptops.

My Y500 was ordered 6/24, shipped from NC 6/26 and received 7/1.

It may vary a lot due to the popularity of a particular model.

The person who took my order mentioned that Lenovo works at a higher capacity before each quarter end. Publicly held companies file quarterly financials and have incentives to raise sales and lower inventory to enhance their financial ratios, not to mention bonus plans.

So I'm guessing the model you ordered pushed you past June 30 and recouping overtime is causing a lag after.

I ordered my 410P on 6/21 they said it wouldn't ship until 7/30. Shipped on 6/26 and received on 6/28. You need to call them and ask if a Purchase Order has been created. If so, its coming from China. If not, their system is screwed up and its shipping from NC. That's what I've found out in my dealings with the nightmare they call Lenovo support.

When the Y500 with GT 750m SLI first came out, I had to wait roughly 1 month total from the order date until I received it. May I ask which model of the y510p you ordered? I just ordered one with a single 750m yesterday.

In tried to place an order on June 25th for the base y410p with 900p screen red. I wasn't notified my card didn't work until a day later. The estimated ship date was June 28th but a day later my ship date moved back to July 12. I was super bummed because my old PC broke and now it moved from waited a few days without a computer, to at least 2 weeks.

However today' my shipping updated and apparently their shipment just arrived, as it is expecting to ship out today July 2, and arrive July 8th. This a whole week ahead of schedule , so I'm hoping everything goes smoothly and that lenovo isn't just pulling my chain.

Hey ddeez, the item number for the ideapad model I got is 59370001. This is the single gt750M and the one with the SSD. Also note this is from Canada so I'm not sure if that changes anything immensely? Although my estimated ship date moved back an entire two weeks, I called in and said that it was actually supposed to ship on the fourth, which I don't know who to believe now because my shipping date has changed roughly 5 times now. I guess I just have to play the patience game? Although I do think that telling 7 business days is borderline false advertising.

and AjBlue, wow an entire week ahead of schedule, lucky you, mine has gone three weeks behind schedule LOL not going to lie, this is like my fifth time ordering online, and this probably has to be the worst experience from a company I have gotten so far. I just hope this laptop is well worth the wait.

Yea, lenovo really sucks at customer service and shipping. Most companies will prevent people from ordering items and even say that its out of stock. However lenovo seems to just ship stock in from China whenever an order is placed.

Its pretty ridiculous that some people are reporting month-long delays. How do you mess up that bad? Did Jim hate his job and trash a shipment as he quit? If so, send me the video so I can be entertained while I wait.

I know, month-long delay is absurd... When I called all they said was a part constraint, which to me makes no sense as in how a single part will take two weeks to get shipped and installed into our respective laptops. I guess that's what we get for free shipping and handling. Oh well, just a poor experience overall on the Canadian side, not sure how usa is holding up LOL

Has anyone here experienced this when trying to check the status of an order 2 days after placing the order "We have not yet received your order. Please check back in a few hours." That is what I am still getting as a message when I try to to check the status.

Hi Adobo9, thanks for your response. Coincidentally, I ordered the exact same model and I am from Canada as well. However, I ordered much later than you (July 2) and my current estimated ship date is July 16th (when I ordered this model, the estimated shipping date was shown to be July 19th). So, I am a bit scared when I read your post and see that you have waited a very long time. May I ask if you have received any updates on your order? Thanks!

As for railsdr, just be patient. Check back in 12 hours. If the problem persists, call Lenovo.

Wow, either you are getting lucky, or, Lenovo is just playing with your feelings(most likely). My estimated ship date is July 15th, however I'm not holding my breath and just preparing to hear the news for it to be delayed again. Honestly, what I believe they are doing is telling you a time, and as soon as it approaches that day, they will go ahead and move it back two weeks, which they did for me. And I have not, my order has been the exact same for about two weeks now, no change, no updates and as far as I'm concerned has not even been built yet. I hope that this journey was all worth it, because I don't believe it is. But best of luck to you, perhaps they are shipping them all at the same time and will receive all at the same time, in which you're very lucky!

Thanks for your response. I faced the same shipping delay problem when I first ordered the Y500 with GT750m Dual Graphics. In total, I believe it was exactly 28 days before I received it.

For both of our sakes, I do hope we will get our laptops according to our current estimated dates. Just like you, I know I have to take this information lightly and be prepared for further delays. If it's not too much to ask, please keep me updated with your order (e.g. when they actually ship it and when you have received it) either through this thread or by private message. :)

I guess my situation isn't bad at all. I ordered the single 750M GPU y500 on 7/8, and it just got shipped to UPS from China. I have UPS tracking and Lenovo tracking and it says it should be here on 7/15.

That sounds great (for you)! May I ask which model # you ordered and if that includes the 24gb ssd cache drive? Also, are you in Canada or the US? Thanks!

Wow you already have UPS tracking? How in the hell is that Canada's standpoint is taking too long, is the only difference the size of the ssd?

Edit: Nvm I saw that you ordered the y500 as opposed to the y510p.

Yeah, and I initially ordered the same model but w/o the SSD, which was $20 cheaper and would have taken until 8/7 to be delivered. So I decided to cancel my order and spend $20 more to get a 16 GB SSD and have it here by the 15th. I guess Lenovo is just really disorganized with their shipping according to availability and location.

I ordered y500 on June 28. Est ship date was July 15. Then Aug 1. Then July 12. Today I got notice that it was shipped (label generated) UPS Expedited, which claims 2 business day delivery.
