i'm into buying a x201, i want something really portable and i was impressed by the thinkpad quality with my computer at a previous job.

but i'm not sure if i should wait for the next refreshment of the line (i know, this is the eternal unanswered question, should i buy or should i wait), so basically i would like to ask to more experienced thinkpad followers if the discounts and promotions are usually available when new models are thrown? i mean, right now the us lenovo site shows big discounts and there are plenty of deal coupons around the web (around $200 extra discounts)

i'd love to wait and see if new x20x will come with Sandy Bridge processors, but i'm definitely not able to pay full list price

Don't expect 'real' discounts right after introduction of any new ThinkPad.

Unless you specifically need the somewhat improved graphics of X201 vs X200, you are much better off getting a good deal on a X200/X200s instead.
