I have used several lenovos and I generally liked them for the price and general use. These new laptops looks pretty promising. What do you all think about it? And what other cpu's gpu's and configurations if any would you like to see from them?

The price is a bit steep however for a portable dtr workstation it looks promising. I would prefer if it came with cpu and gpu options.

The P-series does look promising, lots of new technologies. However I wonder about the implementation - will the engineers be able to make all the new stuff (new motherboard, memory type, CPU, Win 10, etc.) work together well from the start?
I'd be happy to leave the P-series to the early adopters, if only Lenovo had a current T550p or W550 model with Broadwell quad core CPU and Iris Pro graphics (or discrete GPU) - that's what I'm looking for now. I realize Broadwell quad-core only just recently became available (June), but I'm bummed that it seems like it will be skipped. Perhaps I should wait for the Skylake updates for those models (early 2016?) but I would rather buy now.
So I'll target a low-end P50 unless something better comes along.Last edited: Sep 14, 2015 -
They should make a p series option to have a 4820hk cpu instead of the xeon, overclocking may be needed as time moves on.
Lenovo, Skylake, thunderbolt 3, news and thoughts.
