The Chinese PC manufacturer Lenovo has been accused of running a "massive security risk" after researchers found flaws in its software.
Three vulnerabilities could be exploited to install malware on users' systems or to hand attackers a measure of control over them, it was reported.
Lenovo acknowledged the findings and urged users to download a patch to resolve the issues.

Read through the comment, average joe's view on computer product amazed me once again.

Wow, first Superfish and now this. To think that I just ordered a Yoga from them recently.
Oh, well. That's just another reason to reinstall Windows every time you get a new laptop. -
This is why I always go with a clean instal, still remembers the horrors that was HP.
-
Is Lenovo just unlucky? I thought almost all notebook manufacturers preinstall bloatware into their models, yet somehow Lenovo gets the worst end of it.
-
Don't trust "Lenovo applications" to start with. Nor any other bloatware. If you receive new laptop, see if the hardware works fine, then format it completely and start with a Windows disc / stick. End of 90% of problems.

It was fixed over a month ago. Keep your systems updated, guys.
