So I placed an order for an r61 a few days ago. Immediately after that I signed up for a lenovo.com account so I can track the order. I was able to get status of the order immediately after registering, but ever since, login attempts have been unsuccessful with the following errors given:

    "No Portal Access"
"You do not have access to the portal you tried to reach."

WTF? If Lenovo can't get something as simple as web site accounts to work, what else can I expect of them?

Emails were answered with: "please call our sales phone number" (?)

Not a good first impression.

Their site can have some problems.

There were several times when I was trying to place my order and their site said my sign-in name and such didn't exist.

After a few tries, it worked.

Give it a little bit of time, and if that doesn't work, give them a call and see what's up.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I think I found out what is causing this.. since the order was placed through their edu program, I needed to go to the edu part of the site and login from there. Strangely enough it says my order number is invalid.. maybe it was cancelled - oh well.

the lenovo site is pretty screwed up.

a few days ago when i ordered, the check out price was 200 dollars lower than what is now in my order status. that same day, the site was missing the "convert to quote" button, so I couldn't prove that I had a lower price. Now three days later, that button is there. it's as if they purposely tried to screw me out of a 10% discount. :(
