I have a 9 cell battery and the ultra bay battery on a 14.1 T60 with an x1400. With the brightness on 4, and blue tooth off, but wifi on I get about 5 hours. When the ultrabay battery is empty, my battery life reads as being at 80%.
Is this the right amount, and is the ultrabay battery supposed to offer so little battery life compared to the 9 cell? Also, what can I do to squeeze more life out?
Another question, would reducing the number of processes on bootup make a big difference. Ive tried to turn off all the symantec processes, but doing it causes aim and firefox to stop connecting to the internet, but otherwise IE works fine.
Although aside from that, I'm loving this notebook.
Thanks for any suggestions and comments.

I guess it is as expected and is not about the battery. This is probably due to the dual core of the T60 as it uses more power than the previous processor series.
Mainly only way I know of is to try to run at most battery power saving and turn screen brightness. Another way is to probably use programs to undervolt cpu suck as RMClock.
Less Battery life than expected, any suggestions?
