Less than 2 days till T61P Launch

Are you guys ready to get your t61p laptops with the
NVidia Quadro FX 570 M 256MB Direct X 10 videocard
1920 x 1200 15.4" wide screen

 

Well yes..but we are not 100% sure that it will be the day..but we are hoping =) (also we dont get the laptops till..whenever...all i know is after i buy it i will be stuck looking at the status 24/7...)

 

I think this time lenovo has it well planned out and and we we won't be having the shipping problems we had with the T60Ps. Good luck to everyone who purchases one.

 

Is this confirmed or speculation?

How expensive do y'all think the t61p will be? I have a t60p on order right now that cost me roughly $2,000 and I will cancel+order a t61p in a heartbeat if it is within a few hundred bucks.

 

better have some great eye vision with that kind of resolution on a 15" lcd :O

 

I don't know about that. Lenovo has a lot of work to catch up on. They haven't shipped out any t61's and they just released the new x61. I don't know what the t60p lauch was like, but I wouldn't be surprised to see 1+ month waits for shipping on the t61p

 

Some people who ordered early have already received their T61's last week.

 

I've noticed that the people that have their t61's either ordered them through a reseller like pc connection or are residents of canada. I have yet to see anyone in the U.S. recieve an order they made directly through the lenovo website. I could be wrong though, just my observations.

 

There's no reason to think that in the future their shipping will get better.

14.1" T61p please. That new xps 1330 looks too tempting. But I'm still not willing to compromise on quality yet.

I have a WSXGA+ 1680x1050 15.4" screen and I think the text is too small as it is. They'll no doubt let you choose between WUXGA and WSGA+ when it comes out. They might even have WXGA.

 

you know you can change the system font and make it bigger while keeping the resolution.

 

Yes I have tried running 120 DPI in windows. However, some applications don't deal with it very well. For instance in firefox if you run 120 DPI the textbox bleeds into the title bar.

 

So Lenovo starts accepting orders for T61p's tomorrow and ships them ....

 

3 months later. I assume if they let people order them tomorrow that they'll be shipping reasonably soon, within a couple of weeks like the T61 now.

Expect the t61p to be cheaper than the launch prices of the t60p laptops. The days of T60's are numbered I would assume production will stop in less than 2 months.

 

Will the T61p have a non widescreen option?

I feel like it's the night before xbox360's first launch ever. and people are camping out in the rain, and the anticipation is rising to a fever pitch....

 

Man what if nothing happens tomorrow? That would be something. We're all like OOHH YA T61P and you get on Lenovo's site and there's nothing. I hope I eat my words tomorrow though.

It seems there's A LOT going on tomorrow. There's:

Rumor about an updated MacBook/Pro
Rumor about XBOX announcement
Rumor about T61p release
Republican debate including Ron Paul

I'm sure there's more but that's enough to get excited about in one day!

They probably had intentions of releasing it today at on time, but then decided that they should wait since they can't even get their current models out in a timely manner.

Exactly. They can't even ship out models of a system they launched nearly a month ago now. I'm glad they're not releasing a new model, because I doubt they'd be able to fulfill any orders in a timely manner.

 

I had a rep tell me they were going to be released sometime in the middle of summer.
